Japanese Sumo wrestler Yama to enter 'Bigg Boss 5'

After The Great Khali entertained the audiences last year in the "Bigg Boss" house, this year Japanese Sumo wrestling champion Yamamotoyama a.k.a. Yama will make a guest appearance in the reality show.
The 601-pound or 272-kg wrestler will add zing to the finale week. However, certain changes will be made in the house to accommodate the six feet four inches tall Yama. The dining area will be converted into a bedroom-cum-eating area for the wrestler so that he has enough space to do his daily chores. He will be provided with special placards with pictorial representations that will help him to communicate his needs to the housemates

The inmates of the Bigg Boss house will now have to face some heavyweight competition. The retired wrestler who was accused of match fixing in April 2011, will enter the house this weekend.

A source from the airport informed Mumbai Mirror, "Yamamotoyama will be arriving in Mumbai today from Tokyo by a Singapore Airlines flight at 22.50 hours. Since they have a new range of aircrafts - A380, A330-300 and Boeing 777-300, which has 30 inches wide premium First Class and Business class seats, it will be easier to accommodate Yama. Other airlines couldn't accommodate his size."

"His on ground transportation is a big concern and a range of SUVs are now being considered. The cars will have to have huge doors to enable Yama to enter the vehicle," added the source.

When contacted the channel, the spokesperson confirmed Yama's participation and added He will first meet Sanjay Dutt on the sets. A translator will be present to help him communicate. Inside the house, the other contestants will be asked to use sign language to interact with Yama. He will also be given 8-10 placards with pictures like food, sleep, water etc."

Teenager, Jordan Romero becomes youngest ever to climb the tallest peaks on each continent

According to Dailymail.co.uk A Southern California teenager became the youngest person to successfully climb to the summit of the seven tallest mountains on Earth's seven continents, according to his website.
Jordan Romero, 15, called his mother Leigh Ann Drake on Saturday to confirm that he'd achieved his goal of reaching the top of Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctica.
The Big Bear, California-native beat the record previously held by British climber George Atkinson, who completed the ascents at age 16 in May.

Mr Romero's team began the climb Wednesday. Romero's Facebook page, 'Find Your Everest,' marked reaching the summit, but the climb is hardly over.
'It's in the books. The kid and team summit with all fingers and toes. Descent still to come then we celebrate,' a post to the Facebook page read.

'It's my dream we are following to the highest points on every continent,' Jordan says on his blog.
'I know it's a big goal and lucky for me my family is supporting me every step of the way.'
At age 10, Romero climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, and at age 13 he climbed the world's highest mountain, at 29,035 feet, Mt. Everest in Nepal.

Mrs Drake declined further comment, saying the family is not seeking attention for the boy's achievement.
The Seven Summits are a holy grail for mountain climbers -- the seven tallest and most dangerous mountaintops in each of the seven continents.

Prince Philip taken to hospital with chest pains and treated for a blocked coronary artery

The Duke of Edinburgh popularly know as Prince Philip and husband of Queen Elizabeth  was last night under surveillance in the world-famous Papworth Hospital after emergency surgery for a blocked coronary artery.
The 90-year-old royal was flown to the specialist cardiothoracic unit, near Cambridge, in a RAF search and rescue helicopter after being taken ill at Sandringham with serious chest pains.
After ‘precautionary’ tests, Philip underwent what was described as a ‘minimally invasive procedure’ known as coronary stenting.
This involves placing a tube in the coronary arteries that supply the heart, to keep them open in the treatment of heart disease. Stents reduce chest pain and have been shown to improve survival rates in the event of an acute heart problem.
Duke of Edinburg
Dr Simon Davies, a cardiologist at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, said: ‘It meant that the pain was from the heart. It means that one or more of the coronary arteries was badly narrowed or perhaps blocked.
‘That meant that the blood was not passing through that artery so the muscle was starving of oxygen and in danger of dying, in other words a heart attack, or was on the verge of one.’
In view of his age, the Queen’s husband, who still conducts more than 350 engagements each year, will remain in hospital for a day or so for further monitoring.
Sandringham House where Royal family had gathered to celebrate x-mas

Sources said it was unlikely that members of the Royal Family would be visiting him in the coming hours but confirmed that his wife and children were being kept updated on his condition back at the Queen’s private Norfolk estate, where they are gathered for Christmas.
Although it may be viewed by some as uncaring, this is normal procedure within the Royal Family – and the Duke would have it no other way.
When he was in hospital for four days with a chest infection in 2008 he refused to receive any visitors and spent his time catching up on his paperwork.
Papworth Hospital

Buckingham Palace said in a statement last night: ‘His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh was taken to Papworth Cardiothoracic Centre this evening from Sandringham House for precautionary tests after experiencing chest pain.
‘Following tests at Papworth the Duke of Edinburgh was found to have a blocked coronary artery which had caused his chest pains. This was treated successfully by the minimally invasive procedure of coronary stenting. Prince Philip will remain in hospital for observation for a short period.’

It is believed the Duke was flown to the hospital, which is around 60 miles away from the Sandringham estate, by a Sea King helicopter from RAF Wattisham, near Stowmarket in Suffolk, where Prince Harry is based.

Marc Albrighton Of Aston Villal nets 20,000th Premier League goal

Aston Villa's Marc Albrighton wrote himself into the Premier League history books but it was not enough to prevent Arsenal taking all three points at Villa Park.

Albrighton’s second-half strike was the 20,000th Premier League goal and cancelled out Robin van Persie’s opener but Yossi Benayoun managed to seal the 2-1 win for the north London side late on before Villa’s Alan Hutton saw red.
The result was harsh on the hosts who, with Gabriel Agbonlahor back after suspension, were a totally different side to the one overrun by Liverpool at the weekend.

Marc Albrighton shooting the ball towards goalpost
Villa dominated the early exchanges and were unfortunate to fall behind on 17 minutes.
When Theo Walcott was pulled back by Ciaran Clark, referee Jonathan Moss had little choice but to point to the spot leaving Van Persie to step up and hammer the ball high into the roof of the net.
It was the Dutchman’s 34 goal of 2011, equalling Thierry Henry’s club record for most Premier League goals in a calendar year.
Villa continued to do most of the pressing after the restart and were level on 54 minutes when Albrighton slid the ball wide of Wojciech Szczesny from the middle of the penalty box.
Benayoun broke Villa’s hearts with a free header on 87 minutes to make it 2-1.
Hutton was then dismissed in stoppage-time after picking up a second yellow card.

Shane Warne's bronze statue unveiled outside hallowed Melbourne Cricket Ground

Shane Warne was immortalised in bronze Thursday with a new statue of the legendary Australian cricketer being unveiled outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). His bronzed sculpture is the first to be commissioned by the Melbourne Cricket Club as part of the Australia Post Avenue of Legends series, which will see a minimum of five statues placed in Yarra Park during the next five years.

Today’s ceremonial unveiling of Warne’s statue at the MCG has raised eyebrows, and not because the likeness reflects the bulkier Warne of five years ago.

“That’s 300kg, so it’s pretty lifelike from when I played,” Warne joked after the unveiling.

Shane Warne poses next to his new statue outside the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
“Congratulations to Louis for making a very good likeness that I am proud of,” The Sydney Morning Herald quoted him, as saying.

Taking a closer look at the statue’s grip in the ball, Warne said: “It looks like a leg-break.”

Warne's fiance Elizabeth Hurley, his children Brooke, Summer and Jackson, her son Damian and his former captain Mark Taylor were among the hundred-odd people present at the unveiling.

Almost five years to the day after Warne claimed his 700th Test wicket, the legendary spinner was there to see the marvellous creative work of sculptor Louis Lauman.

The 2.5-metre statue recreates his classic action in his heydays.
Warne joins cricket greats Sir Donald Bradman, Keith Miller and Dennis Lillee in having his statue erected on the Parade of Champions outside the hallowed ground, the Australian media reported
