International Friendly match between Argentina and Venezuela to be held on Kolkotta!!!


What will you do if you see international football star messi playing in your country, it is not a dream for indians and now its confirmed that messi is coming to india.The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is dreaming big on the Argentina-Venezuela match featuring superstars like Lionel Messi here September 2 hoping it would help raise the profile of the game and expand its reach in the country, besides drawing more corporate funds in future

Two top FIFA officials will be among the spectators at the 120,000 capacity Salt Lake stadium, which will host the first FIFA friendly international match between two South American nations Argentina and Venezuela in India.

FIFA Technical Director John Michell Benezet and Development Director Theory Regengase will arrive in the city Tuesday and visit the site of the proposed National Football Academy in Pailan in the southern outskirts.

"They will visit Pailan and then stay back to watch the match. During their stay they will share their knowledge and expertise for development of Indian football," AIFF vice president Subrata Dutta told IANS

"These high-profile games attract attention of apex bodies like FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC). When they see the tremendous interest generated in the city for the game, these bodies will be more interested in helping us develop the game," Dutta said.

The Salt Lake stadium, with its dilapidated infrastructure, was virtually written off for international matches. However, with the Messi match coming up, the state government spent Rs.11 crores to upgrade the facilities and renovate the giant stadium.

According to the recent news ,Argentina national football team will arrive in the city by Monday for a Fifa international friendly versus Venezuela on September 2 at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan here.

The first batch of players from Argentina, to be led by Barcelona striker Lionel Messi for the first time in any Fifa international friendly, is expected to land by Monday morning, as per the itinerary circulated here by the organiser, the Celebrity Management Group (CMG).

However, the arrival of Venezuela here would be known later.

CAN shortlists Dasanayake, Senanayake & Habib to appoint as coach of Nepal!!!


Pubudu Dasanayake, Sri Lanka´s former Test cricketer is all set to take the charge of coaching Nepali team. Dasanayake with another Sri Lankan cricketer Charith Senanayake and England cricketer of Pakistini originAftab Habib have been shortlisted by CAN technical committee led by Vice President Shree Harsha Koirala.
According to a CAN source, Dasanayake had sought $ 10000 per month to take the charge of Nepali cricket but later settled for $ 5000 per month. “We´d discussed different names in the technical committee meeting and I´d suggested that the coach above fourty could be outdated and unaware of latest technology,” said General Secretary Paneru.
Dasanayake, 41, had played 11 Test and 16 One-Day-International matches for Sri Lanka and also played 108 First Class matches. Previously, He was coaching Canadian national team for the last four years. Dasanayake, former wicketkeeper batsman, was successful coach for Canada as the team qualified for the World Cup 2011 under his guidance

Dasanayake will be the second Sri Lankan coach for Nepal if CAN appoints him. Former Sri Lankan cricketer Roy Luke Dias was first SL Coach for Nepal who returned to home on December after completing his 9-year long tenure in Nepal.
Dasanayake had debuted against South Africa in 1993 in Test and scored 196 runs in 17 innings with an average of 13.06. He had scored 85 runs in 16 ODI-s for Sri Lanka. In 2001, Dasanayake moved to Canada and played for the Canadian team. He was captain of Canada in 2005. He was appointed provisional coach in 2007 and later given the full charge of the Canadian team.
Meanwhile, Charith Senanayake, 49, played three Test and seven ODI matches. He had made his Test debut in 1991 against New Zealand. Senanayake was team manager of Sri Lankan cricket team in 2008.
English Cricketer, Habib is a familiar name for Nepali cricketers. He had played two Test matches against New Zealand and he coached Hong Kong in 2007. Under his guidance Hong Kong won ACC Trophy Elite Cup held in Malaysia in 2008 and ACC U-19 Elite Cup held in Kuwait 2009.

Brazil lift the FIFA U-20 World Cup title winning Final against portugal

Alex leveled in the 9th minute for Portugal and Nelson Oliveira's 59th minute goal put the Europeans ahead. Brazil fought back to take its fifth U-20 title, having been the runner-up two years ago. Portugal was seeking its third title.

Handicapped writer Jhamak Ghimire awarded with Madan Puraskar 2067!!!


Thirty-year-old,  Jhamak Kumari Ghimire, a handcapped writer, has bagged this year's Madan Puraskar, Nepal's most prestigious  award in literature , for her autobiography 'Jeevan Kaanda ki Phool' that means  Life Flower or Thorn. Last year the This prize was given to other handicapped writer ,Nar Bahadur Saud of Baitadi last year on his contribution to the agricultural development by writing book  Nepalka Balinali Ra Tinko Digo Kheti (Crops in Nepal and their sustainable cultivation).

Likewise, the Madan Puraskar Guthi has decided to honour poet Durgalal Shrestha with the Jagadamba Shree award for his contribution to the Nepali literature. Shrestha is the lyricist of popular song 'Phool ko Aankha maa Phoolai Sansara', which was sung by Aani Chhoying Dolma.
 The awards would be conferred on Ghimire and Shrestha amid a special function in Patan, Lalitpur later in September on the day of Ghatshthapana .
 Miss Jhamak Kumari was born with a severe disability that has prevented her from using her arms, and suffers from limited movement of her body and slurred speech. Born with cerebral palsy, a group disorder that affects the functions of the brain and the nervous system she proved her as differently abled .

Using her toes to write, she trod into the Nepali literature with the start of new millennium at the age of 19.
 She has penned many anthologies of poems, stories and essays besides regularly contributing to newspapers as a columnist.

Syria disqualified from 2014 FIFA World Cup

FIFA have confirmed that the Syrian football team has been disqualified from the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, and that Tajikistan is thereby reinstated into the competition.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee on 17 August declared the first-leg match of the Second Round (Syria-Tajikistan of 23 July 2011) to be lost by Syria by forfeit (0:3) due to an ineligible player (George Mourad) in the Syrian team taking part in this match

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee reached the same decision regarding the second leg match (Tajikistan-Syria of 28 July 2011) due to the same ineligible player also taking part in this match. In conformity with Article 7 of the Regulations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil
, the Bureau of the Organising Committee for the FIFA World Cup took the following decisions
Syrian Flag
:

1. The Syrian team is disqualified from the competition, losing their 2nd round knockout phase by forfeit.

2. The Tajikistan team is reinstated in the competition and will thus play in the 3rd round in Group C which resumes as of 2nd September 2011, in replacement of Syria.

Tajikistan will replace Syria in qualifying Group C alongside Japan, Uzbekistan and DPR Korea.

In accordance with Article 3, paragraph 4 of the Regulations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, these decisions are final and binding, and not subject to appeal.
