Team India selected for first two One day match of home series against England !!!

Chennai, Sep 29 : Ace off spinner Harbhajan Singh was dropped, while Karnataka left arm medium pacer S Arvind and Punjab leg spinner Rahul Sharma were the two new faces in the Indian team for the first two of the five match ODI series at home against England on October 14 and 17

The Indian team was announced here today by the BCCI Selection Committee headed by Chairman Krish Srikkanth after prolonged discussions at a star hotel here.

Master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar, dashing opener Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma did not figure in the list as they were recovering from injuries.
There were expectations that Gautam Gambhir might lead the team following reports that M S Dhoni had opted for rest

However, there were no such changes, except the axing of Harbhajan Singh after his none-too-impressive performance in the recent tour of England from where he returned midway.
India had lost both the Test and the ODI series and also lost only T20 competition in England.
