Finally green signal to Nepal, Nepal to host final round of AFC challenge cup 2012


It has been confirmed that the next edition of AFC Challenge Cup 2012 hosts have been given to Nepal. Football association of Maldieves  president Ali Azim who is in Malaysia to attend AFC meetings and AFC Award night said that the decision was taken in the AFC competition committee and was endorsed by AFC executive committee. 

Nepal was given the provisional rights to host the AFC Challenge Cup, and was given deadline to improve the infrastructure needed for the competition. After several inspections by AFC officials, they have finally given the green light.

According to reliable sources, the competition’s draw ceremony will be on 1st of December 2011. 
Maldives FA was confident the AFC will give the chance to Maldives, who co-hosted a successful SAFF championship in 2008 and two AFC challenge cup qualifiers in 2009 and this year.

Maldives is qualified to the AFC challenge cup for the first time, after they top their qualifying group this year.Nepal also was qualified for the second round along with North Korea. ANFA president Ganesh Thapa who is also vice president of AFC has played vital role in favour of Nepal.
