Nepal National Team which is
in Mumbai for practice ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament to
be held in UAE in March this year, was invited on field as Nerul Gymkhana won
the toss.
2 wickets each from Chandra
Saud and Krishna Karki, a wicket each from Basant Regmi and Rahul Kumar
Vishwakarma helped Nepal
to restrcit the home team to a defendable score of 117 runs for 8 wickets off
the maximum 20 overs.
For Gymkhana, it was Manish
Rao who topscored with 35 runs off 55 balls. Vishal Chitrakar added 20 runs
from 51 balls. Rao played 2 fours while Chitrakar had a single four. Sunil
Chauri was the next batsman with double digit mark. Other batsman did not go
well ahead of the Nepali bowlers who looked quite good in bowling and the rest
of the fielding department.
Gyanendra Malla(24) and
Airee had the 4th wicket partnership of 45 runs then. Malla hit three fours
before going for a catch out. Prithu Baskota couldn’t bat really well for Nepal as he had
to go for a catch out in the ball of Arman Sheikh for 4 runs. Nepal were
already in a stronger position with 98 for 5. Needed 20 runs, Lohani and
Basanta Regmi guided Nepal
to a victory by 5 wickets before the last ball of the inning. Regmi remained at
the crease with 2 runs.
Satish Shinde and Manish Rao
grabbed 2 wickets each while Arman Sheikh took one for Gymkhana.
