SAFF Executive meeting on Sunday morning held in Colombo Sri Lanka decided that Nepal would host the next SAFF Men's Championship in Kathmandu in 2013.
ANFA President Ganesh Thapa exclusively told Media that Nepal won the bidding after convincing the SAFF officials that Nepal would host the memorable tournament.
"We are very happy to get hosting rights of the championship. We will not leave any stone unturned to make SAFF 2013 a memorable tournament for all", Thapa told Media in Colombo.
"It was unanimous decision from the committee", Thapa added.
"We have proposed two dates; either in September or in December", Thapa said.
Eight South Asian countries will take part in the prestigious event of SAARC region. Nepal will host the event after 15 years. Nepal hosted first SAFF Championship back in 1997 which India won defeating Maldives in the final
India are the defending champions. In last Edition India Beat Afghnistan 4-1 to lift the trophy.
The opening edition of SAFF Championship was held in Nepal in 1997. India (1999 and 2011) and Bangladesh (2003 and 2009) are the only nations to hold the event twice. India has won the title five times.
