Nepal won the toss and without any hesitation in the sunny afternoon, they opted to bat. The opener Madhu Thapa once again couldn’t give the start and went cheaply for 3 runs off 21 balls. While the other in-form opener Sita Magar scored 46 runs (48 balls, 7 fours) and gave the team a solid platform before she was stumped of Humaira Tasneem’s bowling.
Similarly, Roshani Bohara 7, Nary Thapa 16, Rubina Chhetri 5, Neera Rajopadhyay 4* contributed in Nepal’s innings. But, Sarita Magar did all what the doctor ordered in the day. She remained not out for 41 runs (44 balls, 3 fours) and closed the innings with the perfection. Nepal ended the innings (25 overs) scoring 145/5. UAE bowlers gave away 23 extras.
For UAE bowlers, Kyna Vedhasinghe took two wickets while Aysha Naushadkhan, Petule Nadar & Humaira Tasneem chipped in with 1 wicket apiece.
In reply, Nepali bowlers showed their decent attack as UAE failed to score enough runs for the win. Humaira Tasneem with the score of 12 runs was the top scorer for UAE. Sonu Khadka took important three wickets to lead Nepal to an easy situation. Karuna Bhandari claimed two wickets while Rubina Chhetry, Nary Thapa and Sarita Magar later added a wicket each to their account.
Player of the match was awarded to Sarita Magar for her all-round performance. Magar was the most economic bowler with the figures of 5-2-8-1.
