Asian Cricket Council is all set to organize U-19 Asia Cup in December. ACC has forwarded proposed date of 26th December for kick off of the Tournament. 8 Team will play in the highly coveted tournament especially for the top 4 Asian Non Test Playing Asian Teams when as they take on the U-19 sides of asian cricketing giants-India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh for the title.   Nepali Cricket Team qualified for the tournament despite Nepal’s worst show in the tournament history, finishing fourth in the recently organized ACC U-19 Elite Cup in Malaysia. Afghanistan, UAE and Malaysia are the other 3 teams of the tournament. Afghanistan won the title defeating UAE in the finals while Malaysia beat Nepal for the place in the podium. Afghanistan(and UAE) also qualified for the U-19 Word Cup The poor show of U-19 team in the ACC Elite Cup meant Nepal could not play the U-19 World Cup in 2014.This tournament was not however ACC 2013 calendar and had to be adjusted in order to manage other dates.

With the success of senior team the U-19 side has been absolutely neglected in recent times. CAN has been busy preparing for the two world cup qualifiers. When even the preparation for World Cup Qualifiers is under scrutiny it will be interesting to see how CAN prepares the U-19 team for the Asia Cup.
