AFC U-16 Championship 2014: Sixteen Teams for Final Confirmed

The line-up for the 16-team AFC U-16 Championship 2014 has been finalised with the completion of the qualifiers.
The 10 group winners who made it into the finals are Kuwait (Group A), Uzbekistan (Group B), Nepal (Group C), Saudi Arabia (Group D), Iran (Group E), Oman (Group F), Australia (Group G), Malaysia (Group H), DPR Korea (Group I) and Japan (Group G).
Thailand, being the hosts of the competition, did not feature in the qualifiers and will be given automatic entry into the competition.
Likewise, the best second-placed teams are also confirmed. Syria (Group D), Qatar (Group F), China PR (Group I), Hong Kong (Group G) and Korea Republic (Group H) are through to the finals as five best runners-up.

According to the criteria approved by the relevant AFC committees to determine the five best runners-up, comparing the runners-up teams over an equal number of matches is the key of identifying the best runners-up.
In order to ensure equality when comparing the runners-up team of all the groups, the results of the matches between the runner-up team and the bottom-placed team (for Group C, D, E, I and J, which consist four teams) or two sides from the bottom (for Group A, G and H, which consists of five teams) were considered null and void due to Group B and F having only three teams participating in the qualifiers.
The best runner-up team among those ranked second in the groups were determined as follows:
1. Greater number of points obtained from group matches identified by AFC
2. Goal difference resulting from group matches identified by AFC
3. Greater number of goals scored in group matches identified by AFC
4. Fewer number of points calculated according to the number of yellow and red cards received by the team in the group matches identified by AFC
5. Drawing of lots.
