Weekly Review Of ICC world cup 2011 !!!!

The eleventh edition of ICC world cup 2011 is organized by three south Asian countries India, Srilanka and Bangladesh. The world cup was officially inaugurated in Bangla Bandhu stadium of Dhaka, and the real countdown of world cup had begun after the first played between to organizer India and Bangladesh. As world cup had gone about one week long here I am trying to analyze the week of world cup 2011. Till today all countries had played at least one match and shown their caliber .

First Match between India & Bangladesh:

 The match played between India and Bangladesh is known for the brilliant performance by bats man. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field due to due factor, but India made huge total though it lost its key player Sachin early as run out. The day was for Virendra sehwag and he made explosive 175 in 140 ball and he was supported by Virat Kohli 100 of 83 ball. Munaf patel really bowled well and took 4 wicket to restrict Bangladesh just for 283/9  and India stopped the history to occur again by beating Bangladesh by 87 run and man of the match was offcourse Sehwag for his excellent inning.

 Second match between Newzland and Kenya:

 In the low scoring match in Chepauk Chennai Kenya lost to Newzland with huge margin and no player of Kenya shows any impressive game.Kenya won the toss and elected to bat but the decision turns out to be bad. After demolishing Kenyan batting for just 69 runs, Kiwi openers chased down the target inside 8 overs to register a comprehensive win against the Kenyan side. The man of the match was given to Hamish Bennett of newzland for his excellent bowling. Hamish Bennett took 4 wicket just for 16 run in five over.

Third match between Srilanka and Canada:

 In the second match of the day & third match of the tournament again the minnows failed to show any impression as Srilanka beat Canada by huge margin of 210 runs with the help of record breaking century by Mahela Jayawardene. He shoed his batting skilling scoring century in  just 81 ball. With the help of his century, Srilanka made 332/7 and on response minnows Canada were all out for 122 in 36.5 over, though Rizwan Cheema shows some struggle in middle order. The man of the match award goes to non other that century boy Mahela jayawardene.

The Opening race of Formula One the Bahrain Grand Prix is postponed!!!

 Here is bad news for the race lovers. who enjoy formula one specially people from middle east as the opening race of the Formula One season, the Bahrain Grand Prix, has been axed due to ongoing political unrest in the country.The Bahrain government confirmed the race, scheduled for March 13, had been called off on Monday afternoon after days of speculation.

The Bahraini Crown Prince, Salman bin Hamad al Khalifa, informed Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone of the decision by telephone after days of unrest in the Gulf kingdom.

The 2011 Formula One season will now begin in Melbourne, Australia on March 27.

The Crown Prince told the country's Information Affairs Authority Twitter site: "We felt it was important for the country to focus on immediate issues of national interest.

"Bahrain's priority is on overcoming tragedy, healing divisions and rediscovering the fabric that draws this country together to remind the world of the very best that Bahrain is capable of as a nation once again united.

"At the present time the country's entire attention is focused on building a new national dialogue for Bahrain.

Thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets in recent days to protest against the country's ruling monarchy, basing themselves at the Pearl Roundabout in the capital Manama.

Around 10 protestors were reported to have been killed after security services attempted to clear the roundabout on Thursday. The Crown Prince said he was deeply sorry for the deaths in an interview with CNN.

There has been no announcement yet on whether the race will be held at a later date, though chairman of the Bahrain International Circuit Zayed R. Alzayani told CNN he was hopeful there would be an annoucement in a "matter of weeks."

He said: "That all depends on how the events in Bahrain going on at present turn out -- there will be a process of reconciliation launched soon and all parties will come to the table in response to his Royal Highness's efforts and things will come back to normality."

The cancellation of the race could be costly for Bahrain's economy. The 2008 grand prix was worth around $600 million in direct and indirect revenue, according to the Marcopolis website.

British newspaper The Times reported that it cost Bahrain race organizers $40 million to secure a place in this year's calendar, plus another $20 million to ensure it was the first of the season.

On top of that, the $200 million Sakhir circuit has also had a $50 million revamp since last year's race.

Mark Webber, driver for the Red Bull team, backed the cancellation. He said "I think the right decision was made, in light of what is going on, so we look forward to Melbourne instead.

"It would have been nice to go to Bahrain, but hopefully it can stage the race again. As for starting in Melbourne, it's my home race and, as always, I'm looking forward to it.

Webber's comments were echoed by Renault team boss Eric Boullier. He said: "The recent situation in Bahrain has been difficult for the country. We feel the decision taken by the Crown Prince is wise and we fully support it.

"The Bahrain Grand Prix has always been warmly welcomed with enthusiasm from the Bahraini people and we're looking forward to going back there when they have healed their country."

The Bahrain Grand Prix is a Formula One Championship race which first took place at the Bahrain International Circuit on 4 April 2004.

The Bahrain Grand Prix, sponsored by Gulf Air, made history as the first Formula One Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East. Bahrain fought off fierce competition from elsewhere in the region to stage the race, with Egypt,Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates all hoping for the prestige of hosting a Formula One Grand Prix.

The inaugural race was given the award for the "Best Organised Grand Prix" by the FIA.

The Bahrain Grand Prix has usually been the third race of the Formula One calendar. However, in the 2006 season, Bahrain swapped places with the traditional opener, the Australian Grand Prix, which was pushed back to avoid a clash with the Commonwealth Games. Bahrain staged the opening race of the 2010 season.

Nepal will face Hong Kong in semifinal of ACC womens Twenty20 Championship

Nepal will face defending champion hongkong  in the semifinal match of ACC ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship  in Kuwait tomorrow at hubara cricket ground at Local time 1:00 pm. Nepal hadn’t lost any match in the tournament till now have topped group B with 4 consecutive win and maintaining net run rate of +1.96 whereas the defending champion Hong Kong lost its opening match against China and became the second in their group. Hong Kong had three win and one lose while Nepal hasn’t lost any match. IPL 2011 Schedule for upcoming Indian Premier League Season 4 has been announced by BCCI. The tournament will be played just after  few days of Cricket World Cup tournament will finish.  IPL T20 is one of the biggest sports event of the cricket world. It is played every year in the summer season of Indian Subcontinent.Remember this is just provisional schedule, pending approval from Election Commission of India because Tamil Nadu and West Bengal will be having State Elections in the same period. whatever enjoy the cricket through out the year whether it is test cricket, one day or twenty20.Two more team than the previous edition of IPL will be taking part in the tournament.

Nepal Topped Group B of ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship in Kuwait!!!

Nepal beat Malaysia by 9 wickets to continue its unbeaten sprit in the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship at KOC, Hubara in Kuwait.

Malaysia scored 68 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 over after they elected to bat first as they won the toss. Chasing the total Nepal only loses one wicket to achieve the target in just fourteen over for a comprehensive victory. Sita Rana scored unbeaten 21 runs for the victory.  Captain Nira Rajopadhya scored 18 while rashmi scored 13.

Earlier, player of the match Rubina Chhetri grabbed four wickets and Karuna Bhandari claimed two wickets and captain Nira grabbed one wicket  to restrict Malaysia to a lowly total. E Eliani top scored 33 for Malaysia.

It’s fourth win for Nepal in four league matches. Nepal toped the group B so now Nepal will now meet the Group A runners-up in the semifinal on February 24 at Hubara.

Nepal Beat host Kuwait to reach the semifinal of ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship

Nepal, one of the strongest contender of the tournament qualified for the semifinal of the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Championship defeating hosts Kuwait by 47 runs at KEC. Defeat against Kuwait was the Nepal consecutive  third win of the Tournament.

 Kuwait won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first at the KEC cricket ground.Nepal scored 103/4 in 20 overs and restricted Kuwait for 56/9 for an easy victory.

Earlier, Sita Rana topscored with 22 of 37 balls and Rashmi got 20 of 32 balls with three fours as Nepal reached 103/4 in 20 overs.  Manisha  rawal  got out at 9 .Kuwait gave away too many extras as well, 31 in total including 24 wides and 5 noballs.

Nary Thapa remained unbeaten on 10 and Sarita got 8 in Nepal’s total. While Janaki Bhatta man of the match against Thailand remain unbeaten for 3. Zaki, Gomez, Anisha D’Silva and Maryam Omar each grabbed wicket for Kuwait.

Chasing a good total, Kuwait batswomen struggled to get runs. After Sabreen Zaki was out early in second over to captain Nary Thapa, Khansa Irfan (8) and captain Siobhan Gomez (12) partnered 20 runs in 36 balls for second wickets but the pace made it hard for them to go for victory.

On the 10th over, Karuna Bhandari claimed three wickets in four balls – that of top scorer Gomez, Afia Khan(4) and Varshini Suresh to make it 36/5 half-way-through.

Player of the match Karuna took another, while Sarita Magar and Rashmi Sharma also claimed one wicket each to complete the formalities from then on.

Tenth edition of ICC world cup 2011 had officially begun but the real excitement will start at 08:30 GMT or 14:30 Local time in Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur,Dhaka, with a capacity of 25,000 seats where  two co host will try to find the glory for their team and country. India who lost their last game against Bangladesh in the last edition of World Cup in carribean will search for the revenge when they take on host Bangladesh  in front of their supportive home crowd. Bangladesh ensured India's early exit in the first round of the 2007 tournament Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is determined to avoid any repeat on the subcontinent.

This time M.S.Dhoni team is much different than it was in 2007 under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid or we can say the Greg Chappel who divided the team in more than two parts which resulted in an early exit from the tournament. There is no problem in batting line up as India’s team is made of up the best batsman of the world consisting of little master Sachin tTendulakr, explsove Birenra Sehawag and inform Gautam Gambhir in top order, while Virat Kohli, Raina , Yuvraj, Dhoni and Yusuf pathan are back bone if the opener failed. Even harbhajan and Zaheer can bat well when needed.

The pace attack led by Zaheer Khan may have to work hard and give some easy work to the spinners. Anyway India has very good bowling attack and the spinners can bring magical win as we have already seen that in warm up match against Australia.

Indian team who is carrying the hopes of billion on their shoulder needs to perform as per their potential to make the hopes of billions count in their opening game against Bangladesh.

The Pitch at Mirpur is likely to get support spinners and will also provide some help to the fat bowlers. Team winning the toss is likely to bat first and put runs in excess of 275 on the board to put pressure on the opposition.

Nepal Begin with Victory in ACC Womens 20-20 Championship!!!!

ACC WOMEN'S TWENTY20 Tournament is on going in Kuwait .Kuwait's hosting of this ten-team multi-national event, the first of its kind in the country Beside the fact that muslims country Afghanistan’s and Iran’s women cricketers have had to withdraw due to elements in opposition to women’s sport within their countries. Teams  participating are host Kuwait , defending champions Hong Kong, previous finalists Thailand, Bhutan, China, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Singapore and the pioneers of women’s cricket in the Middle East UAE.  Hong Kong, Nepal and Thailand were considered as strong teams of the event but the first day match have shown some unexpected result.

 Nepal won its first match against one of the strong team Thailand by the margin of 21 runs at KEC ground.  Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first and Nepal lost ther two wicket in the first over one in the first ball of the match. Nepal fight back to score 75 in 18.4 over with the help of man of the match janaki basnet(25)  and captain Nery thapa(10). Besides these two bats man no nepali player get the run in double figure. Former captain Neera Rajopadhyay scored 7 and contributed some runs to the team.

 In reply with tight bowling and fielding Nepal restricted Thailand to 54 in 18.1 over . Thanks goes to  Karuna bhandari playing her first international match bowled well to take 3 wicket in her 4 over bowling spell just giving 12 runs. Beside that sarita magar gave just 8 run to take two wicket in four overs. Other bowlers who took wicket were Rubina Chhetri(1/11 in 3.1)and Rashmi sharma(10/1 n 3.0 over). Nepal started well in the tournament though they lacked their skill in batting. Nepal has played against strong team Pakistan in Pakistan before they went to Kuwait and Nepalese women’s team is the first cricket team to play in Pakistan after srilankan cricket team was attacked by terrorist in Lahore.

Nepal lose chance to be ACC Under -19 Elite cup champion losing against Afghanistan

Nepal once again fail in last moment against Afghanistan and loss the chance to be the under-19 champion among the non test playing nation of Asia as Afghanistan beat Nepal by 61 run in the final of acc under 19 elite cup at TCG Thailand. Nepal have already beaten the Afghanistan in the league match of tournament but in the final nepali batting failed as they lost their last six wicket just for 25 runs.

Winning the toss Afghanistan elected to bat first and they batted well and made 200 run losing their 9 wicket in allotted fifty overs. Afsar Khan Zazai(26) opener and wicket keeper batsman &Nasir Jamal Ahmadzai(19) started well and make 42 run for first wicket. Later seventh and eight number bats man Noorulhaq Malekzai & Mohibullah Paak increases the run rate of afganistan scoring 34(in 41 balls) and 36(24 balls).Pradeep airee takes 5 wicket for Nepal while Krishna karki takes two and remaining two wicket was shared by captain Rahul B.K. and bhuwan karki.
In return Nepal started poorely as they lost their four key batsmans just for 31 runs. later Rajesh pulami and pradeep airee leads the inning with the partnership of 83 run but the match takes the different turn as Nepal lose Rajesh pulami(22) on run out.after that nepali batting line up explode losing all hope to be a champion.
