Nepal Begin with Victory in ACC Womens 20-20 Championship!!!!

ACC WOMEN'S TWENTY20 Tournament is on going in Kuwait .Kuwait's hosting of this ten-team multi-national event, the first of its kind in the country Beside the fact that muslims country Afghanistan’s and Iran’s women cricketers have had to withdraw due to elements in opposition to women’s sport within their countries. Teams  participating are host Kuwait , defending champions Hong Kong, previous finalists Thailand, Bhutan, China, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Singapore and the pioneers of women’s cricket in the Middle East UAE.  Hong Kong, Nepal and Thailand were considered as strong teams of the event but the first day match have shown some unexpected result.

 Nepal won its first match against one of the strong team Thailand by the margin of 21 runs at KEC ground.  Nepal won the toss and decided to bat first and Nepal lost ther two wicket in the first over one in the first ball of the match. Nepal fight back to score 75 in 18.4 over with the help of man of the match janaki basnet(25)  and captain Nery thapa(10). Besides these two bats man no nepali player get the run in double figure. Former captain Neera Rajopadhyay scored 7 and contributed some runs to the team.

 In reply with tight bowling and fielding Nepal restricted Thailand to 54 in 18.1 over . Thanks goes to  Karuna bhandari playing her first international match bowled well to take 3 wicket in her 4 over bowling spell just giving 12 runs. Beside that sarita magar gave just 8 run to take two wicket in four overs. Other bowlers who took wicket were Rubina Chhetri(1/11 in 3.1)and Rashmi sharma(10/1 n 3.0 over). Nepal started well in the tournament though they lacked their skill in batting. Nepal has played against strong team Pakistan in Pakistan before they went to Kuwait and Nepalese women’s team is the first cricket team to play in Pakistan after srilankan cricket team was attacked by terrorist in Lahore.

 In other match played Yesterday Singapore beat Bhutwan by ten wicket  and host Kuwait defeat Malaysia by six wicket.  On other surprising team was china & China’s Women achieved the biggest win of their career by defeating defending champions Hong Kong by 13 runs, As the tournament will proceed I will update the result .
