AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers: ANFA announce Preliminary Squad; 30 Players In short List

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has short listed thirty players from 48 players  for the up coming AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers starting from June 2- 12 in Kathmandu. The Players were Training under Coach Krishna Thapa since last week. The selected players are:

GK: Bikesh Kuthu(IMYA), Bishal Shrestha (LH MMC), Amrit Kumar Choudhary (YHSC), Dinesh Thapa Magar (Machindra FC) 

DF:  Sabindra Shrestha (LH MMC), Bikash Singh Chhetri (LH MMC), Rabin Shrestha (NPC), Deepak Bhusal, Palsang Lama, Ajit Bhandari, Prabin Sainju, Rabi Thapa, Rohit Chand (HAL India)

MF: Shiva Shrestha (LH MMC), Roshan Lamichane (NRT), Prabin Karki(SJYC), Ganesh Khadka (YHSC), Rupesh KC (YHSC), Sulav Maskey (LH MMC), Anil Ojha (MTSC), Bharat Khawas, Sujal Shrestha (LH MMC), Amir Shrestha (LH MMC), Sushil KC (NRT), Santosh Tamang (Friends Club)

FW: Asim Jung karki (NRT), Buddha Chemjong (MTSC), Jangbu Sherpa (YHSC),  Bishal Rai B (Machindra FC), Jagjeet Shrestha(YHSC)
      
Jagjeet Shrestha will join the training after his suspension is over while Rohit Chand is in India and he will join the team after he arrives Nepal. 
Nepal National U-22 team coach, Krishna Thapa selected the players seeing them for a week. 
The notable exclusion from the team is Kunjan Gurung. It is learned that Kunjan Gurung was not included in the team due to his passport problem.
Yeti Himalayan Sherpa Club Coach, Nawal Gurung, who is also a sports medicine graduate from UK, has been appointed the physio of Nepal National team U-22. Gurung has already started working with the team. 

The team leader of Nepal U-22 National team, Karma Tsering Sherpa said, "We are impressed with the work of Gurung. So we decided to appoint him". 

The Physio, Gurung also feels happy to be associated with the National team. 

"I feel happy to work with ANFA. I feel proud to be associated with the Nepal U-22 team", Gurung said. 

The top two teams from the group will qualify for the final round. The AFC U-22 Championship Finals will  be played from January 11-26, 2014. Fourteen Member Associations will qualify from the qualifying competition (the top two teams and the best third-placed team). 

The hosts will be given direct entry to the Finals.

In Group B: Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Palestine, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka
In Group C: Bahrain, IR Iran, Tajikistan, Qatar, Kuwait, Maldives
In Group D: Uzbekistan, Jordan, Yemen, Bangladesh, Nepal
In Group E: Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Macau, Timor Leste
In Group F: DPR Korea, China PR, Thailand, Hong Kong, Laos, Cambodia
In Group G: Korea Republic, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Chinese Taipei, Philippines
