Nepal’s under-16 cricket team
departed to Malaysia
to take part in the ACC U-16 Elite Cup organized by Asian Cricket Council
today.
Before
the departure, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) organised a farewell
programme at Nepal Sports Council (NSC) office, Tripureshwor today. The 16
member team will be led by CAN’s member Sanjeev Kumar Pandey.
Meanwhile,
Member Secretary of NSC, Yuvaraj Lama gave farewell to all the members at the
programme. Dipendra Chand will lead the team during the tournament.
The
ten nation tournament will be held from May 4 – 13th at Malaysia. Nepal will take on Kuwait in the first match of the
tournament on May 4 at Bayuemas Ground.
Nepal has been placed in
group B alongside Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait
and Iran in group B while
Group A comprises the defending champion Singapore,
Hong Kong, Oman
and Thailand.
Runners up of the first edition, Nepal
will play against Bahrain on
May 6 at Kinrara, take on Iran
on May 8 at Bayuemas and will face Malaysia on May 9 at Kinrara
ground. All the matches will be of 40 overs. I as cricket lover will wish Nepal
