The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) on
Friday announced its withdrawal from the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup, a tournament
featuring many of the Asian Football Confederation's 'emerging' national team
programs.

"The FFC wants to concentrate on building youth and grassroots programs [in the country]," FFC Deputy General Secretary May Tola said in a statement, also citing limited financial reach due to the ongoing construction of the country's new national football center in Bati.
Cambodia are presently without a manager following the resignation of coach Hok Sochetra earlier this week.
The 2014 AFC Challenge Cup qualification phase will determine the teams which advance to the final tournament. The qualification draw was scheduled to be held on 25 October 2012, in AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but has been postponed to November. The qualification matches are scheduled to take place 2–17 March 2013
