Arsenal went into the last international break of 2013 top of the Premier League table but on the back of a disappointing defeat at Manchester United. While Southamton are in the great form who are in the 3rd position.Arsène Wenger’s side seemed to be negotiating their perennial ‘nasty November’ in some style before they fell to Robin van Persie’s goal at Old Trafford. It hardly derailed the Arsenal express but it has left them running in a lower gear for the past fortnight.
“It was a very big disappointment to lose at Manchester United,” said Wenger. “Overall it was a positive week because we played Liverpool then went to Dortmund and Manchester United. We had two wins out of three. But I think at least a draw was in our potential and we want to learn to make the maximum of what we create. On the day we did not do that. Manchester United had two shots on target and we lost 1-0. That has not to be repeated.”
