Nepal stays No.1 in ACC Rankings!!!

Nepali Cricket Team has been ranked first for the second consecutive cycle, following their triumph in ACC Trophy Elite 2012 and runners-up placings in ACC U-19 Elite 2011 and ACC U-16 Elite 2012.

After the conclusion of the last tournament in the biennial ranking cycle of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the ACC Trophy Challenge, it has been possible to establish the final overall rankings for 2011 and 2012.

Malaysia and Afghanistan move up a place to second and third.

The rankings are used to determine supplementary ACC funding for the countries concerned, under the categories of Coach Assistance Equipment, School Cricket, Women’s Cricket and Governance. Out of a fund amounting to close to $1.5 million, the countries at the top of the ACC rankings receive about 40% more than the those at the bottom.

The rankings for 2011 – 2012 will stay in place until December 2014

Malaysia shattered Nepal’s dream in Final of ACC-16 Elite Cup

Nepal once again loss the Final of ACC U-16 Elite cup and this time lucky team to defeat Nepal is host Malaysia. With this win Malaysia also take the revenge of the League Match and prove them as the champion. However the win was not easy for Malaysia as they won Nepal with the narrow margin of just 1 wicket with 5 balls to Spare

  Nepal won the toss and Chose to bat first and Nepal had very good start with capatain dipendra chand playing some good strokes. Nepal seems in trouble just after the Dipendra chand was back to pavilion making 21 runs of just 21 balls. After that Nepalese batsman looks struggling with spin attack of Malaysia. Only Aakash bista(35) , Nurdhoj sen(19) & Shash Mishra(12) touches the double figure. Malaysian Bowler Shankar Goonasagaran took 3 wickets while Pavandeep Singh, Sharvin Muniandy and Shankar Satish share 6 wickets with each taking two wicket. Sashi Mishra was run out.

  Though the total on the board wasn’t so high Nepalese bowler didn’t gave up easily as they fight till last but the match winning inning from Opener Virandeep singh(55) shatters Nepal dreams to became champion and gave one wicket victory to his team.He face 119 balls and remain not out till the last ball of the inning. He hits four from the first ball of last over of the innings bowled by Kalicharan Yadav. Vinay Sing(22) and Shankar satish (12) also contributed. Aakash Bista and Kalicharan yadav took two wicket each while jagdish Chand , dipendra Chand  and sashi Mishra share three wickets among them. Two batsman of Malaysia were run out.

Nepal Defeats Singapore by 101 runs and secures position in Final.

Nepal entered the Final of ACC U-16 Elite Cup 2012 with a comprehensive win over last year Singapore by the margin of 101 runs.

Winning the toss, Nepal opted to bat first. Half centuries from Nurdhoj Sen and Jagadish Chand took the score to 240 runs from 40 overs at  Malaysia.

Opener Nurdhoj Sen scored 51 runs while Jagadish Chand 53 runs piled up Huge Total of 240 for the loss of 9 wickets. Similarly, Aadil Khan (21), Rupesh Bastola (21), Dipendra Chand 

(20), Alfaz Mansuri (18), Aashif Seikh (15) and Akash Bista (6) contributed to Nepal’s score.

Singapore had a good start during the chase but a good-spell of bowling from Nepali bowlers in the middle overs stopped the flow of runs & thus sigapore started returning pavilion, Nepal bowled out Singapre for 139 runs in 36.5 overs. V.Seshadri of Singapore top scored with 46 runs while A.Goenka managed 38 runs. For Nepal, Akash Bista took 3-24 and Man of the match Jagadish Chand took 3-28.The credit also goes to wicket Keeper as he run out two Singapore openers and two stump ping

In the first edition of ACC U-16 Elite Cup 2010 held in Kathmandu, Nepal lost to Singapore by 68 runs in the final. Meanwhile, Malaysia defeated Oman by 36 runs in a low scoring match of another semi-final match played at Kinrara. Malaysia batted first and collapsed for 78 runs in 31.4 overs. In reply, Oman were bundled out for just 42 runs in 20.1 overs.

Nepal will face Malaysia in the final of ACC U-16 Elite Cup at Kinrara on Sunday. This will be the second consecutive appearance for Nepal in the final of this tournament. And stay with me to get the live update of Final match between Nepal and Malaysia.

Nepal to Face Singapore in the semifinal of ACC U-16 Elite Cup

Nepal will face the runner up of Group A Singapore in the semifinal at Kinrara Cricket Ground on Friday may 11. Nepal secured the top position of the Group Bafter defeating Malaysia by one wicket.The win was only possible after man of the match aakash bista and Anup Neupane  make 52 runs for Last wicket.

After losing the toss Nepal was invited bowl first and Nepali bowler mange to bowl well restricting Malaysia for just 139 runs in 37.1 Overs. Nepal fielded well to run out five Malaysian Batsman while aakash bista took two wicket and dipendra chand Rupesh bastola and Kalicharan yadav  shared other three wickets among themselves.

  Following the easy target Nepali youngsters can’t calm them down and played explosives shots and keep loosing the wicket. Once it looked like Nepal is going to lose the match with huge margin but Nepalese players didn’t let down their cricket fans as they outclassed Malaysian bowling in last few overs and gave most waited win for Nepal. In other semifinal Malaysia will face Oman in the same day at at Bayuemas cicket ground.
