FIFA Confederation Cup 2013 Final Live Stream : Watch Brazil Vs Spain Live Stream

European giant Spain and South American giant Brazil are facing each other in the Final of FIFA Confederation Cup 2013. The final game in the Confederations Cup will be between Spain, the best team in the world, against Brazil, the best in history, in the Maracana, unquestionably one of the most evocative soccer stadiums on earth.

Host Brazil had reached the final Beating another South American Uruguay after Brazil’s winning goal came very late, from the head of Paulinho following a corner kick in the final moments. While Spain beat their European counter parth in dudden Death. The Selecao will do so with the knowledge that they now have nothing to lose and everything to gain from the final, having already far exceeded initial pre-tournament expectations.

"We achieved our goal of getting to the final and giving the players a sense of unity and the fans an idea that we have a good team that can get to the final of the World Cup,"Scolari said of his team's performance on Friday, via BBC.

Having entered the competition under a cloud, Brazil believes in their national side once more. Despite all the problems seen off the pitch, the yellow shirt has become a symbol of joy for the people once more.

Had they been able to choose their opponents, though, it is unlikely they would have ever chosen to face the might of Spain.

La Roja have been an all-conquering force in World Football for the past five years, with the 2009 Confederations Cup the one blot on their copybook in that time. Coincidentally, it was Brazil who clinched a third title on that occasion.

The motivation is there, then, for the team that has won virtually everything in the game. For many of the Spanish side, the Confederations Cup is the only trophy missing from their extensive collection.

As a fixture, pitting the hosts against the favourites, it could not get any bigger, and many will hope for a rematch at the same stage next Summer.

Among those excited by the prospect is Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas, who told reporters "The whole world wanted to see a Brazil-Spain final, and in the end the two teams who are there are the ones who deserve it.

"It's basically a curtain-raiser for the World Cup (next year), and everyone who loves football will agree that it should be a great match" he said, via Sambafoot.

The fixture should be a great clash for the neutral, as both sides seek to prove their point ahead of World Cup 2014. The stage is set, and now one of the two sides must lay down a marker ahead of next Summer's main event. Both teams, though, will be among the forerunners next year.

David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Raul may play Football in India

Some of the world's top football stars David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Michael Owen and Raul Gonzalez could soon be seen in action during a franchise-based tournament to be launched by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and its commercial partner IMG-Reliance early next year.

Beckham, Henry and Raul are closely working with IMG in different projects to promote the game and the sports management group is pursuing them to be a part of the eight-team tournament that will be played in India Jan 14-March 13."IMG has professional contracts with some stars like Beckham, Raul and Henry and there is a high possibility that they can be seen either playing or promoting the new league that will be held next year," a top AIFF official told IANS.
Thierry Henry

Former England captain Beckham, who recently retired from football, is contracted with IMG to promote football in China as its brand ambassador while ex-Real Madrid legend Raul, who is playing with Qatari club Al Sadd, and Henry work with the IMG Academy on a regular basis. IMG are also consultants to the Qatar Football Association for the 2022 World Cup.IMG's senior vice-president (football) Jefferson Slack is in talks with the international players to convince them to play in the league.
"IMG have started targetting some of the just retired international stars to play in the tournament. According to the joint venture between Reliance and IMG, the sports management group has to get some international stars for the league," the official said. Each of the eight teams in the new league is expected to have a squad of 25 players, including half-a-dozen foreign recruits. The official also said that teams will be up for grabs through a bidding process by August. The franchise-based football tournament is expected to glamourise the sport in the country, like what the Indian Premier League (IPL) did to cricket. But the AIFF is yet to decide on the players' transfer and club registration rules and may have to ring in some changes in its constitution for the tournament.
The AIFF wants all the eight clubs to be centrally registered but according to current rules clubs can only be registered with state associations.IMG-Reliance will also have to take players on loan from the I-League clubs for two months and players transfer rules also have to be amended.

Mourinho to leave Real Madrid at end of season

Jose Mourinho will quit Real Madrid at the end of the season after coming to a mutual accord with the Spanish club that brings to an end a disappointing three-year stint by his high standards.

The Portuguese's imminent departure, three years before his contract expires, will add fuel to widespread expectations he is poised to return to former club Chelsea. While Real have yet to name a successor, president Florentino Perez confirmed the club had approached Paris St Germain to ask about the availability of Carlo Ancelotti.
"After the talks with our coach Jose Mourinho we have reached the agreement to end the contractual relationship at the end of this season," Perez told a news conference at Real's Bernabeu stadium after a board meeting on Monday."Both the club and the coach agree that it is the right moment to end this relationship," the construction magnate said, adding Mourinho would not receive a payoff.

The club have two La Liga games left to play this season and Mourinho's final match in charge will be at home to Osasuna the weekend after next.Real's move for Italian Ancelotti, who has told PSG he wants to leave, had been rejected by the French champions but he was not the only candidate, Perez said."We have not agreed any pre-contract with any coach. That is a job for the next few days. It is not an issue we will resolve tomorrow," he said.

PSG sporting director Leonardo said on French radio on Monday the situation with Ancelotti, who has another year to run on his contract, had not changed.

"It is important to continue what we have started," Leonardo told RTL. "That's why we will still try to keep Carlo."

Mourinho, 50, joined Real after leading Inter Milan to the Champions League title in 2010. He agreed to extend his contract with the La Liga club to June 2016 in May last year.

Perez had hoped Mourinho, whom he has often referred to as "the best coach in the world", would help the club win the 10th European crown that has eluded them since 2002 and end the dominant run of arch rivals Barcelona.

To help realise his dream, he splashed more than 400 million euros ($513 million) of the club's money on players, including a world record 94 million euros on forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, after three seasons Mourinho's haul of major titles is one La Liga and one King's Cup, a hugely disappointing return for the world's richest club by income.

He ended a run of six successive years of last-16 exits in the Champions League but three semi-finals in three years was not enough for the club.

"We believe (under Mourinho) we have made a very significant qualitative leap in sporting and competitive terms and we had not been where we should have been for six years," Perez said.

"The record is positive.

"Last year we were enjoying some spectacular football, beating all the records," he added.

"This year the results are very good if you are common mortals but it is not enough for us."

Atletico stun Real to win their 10th King's Cup

Atletico Madrid stunned city rivals Real to win their 10th King's Cup when Miranda's extra-time header secured a 2-1 comeback win in an action-packed and ill-tempered clash at the Bernabeu on Friday in which Real coach Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo were both sent off.

Atletico's jubilant fans spilled onto the streets of the Spanish capital to celebrate their first victory over their bitter city rivals in 14 years, while the Real faithful were left to reflect on a season without major silverware and the possible departure of Mourinho at the end of the campaign.

Ronaldo, who was shown a straight red card after he kicked out at Atletico captain Gabi in the second half of extra time, apparently catching him in the face, nodded Real ahead in the 14th minute.

Atletico Madrid team with Copa de
Diego Costa levelled 10 minutes before the break and after Mourinho was dismissed for furiously protesting a referee's decision with around 15 minutes of regular time left Miranda glanced a 99th-minute header past Diego Lopez to secure a first win against Real since 1999.

The match, in which Real hit the post three times, descended into chaos near the end when a mass brawl between substitutes and technical staff erupted on the side of the pitch as Ronaldo received his marching orders.

Play was further interrupted moments later when Atletico goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was hit by an object thrown from the crowd and Gabi was shown a second yellow card in the dying seconds for time wasting.

After five minutes of nerve-wrenching extra time, the referee finally blew the whistle, sending the red and white-clad Atletico fans into raptures while the white half of Real's own stadium was left in mute shock.

The King's Cup does not carry the same prestige as La Liga or a European title but the Atletico fans' euphoria also reflected the fact that they had got the better of their city neighbours after more than a decade of disappointment.

"This team has worked extremely hard for this match," Gabi told Spanish television as his team mates celebrated wildly and showered each other with champagne nearby.

"This victory tastes of glory and is for all those who have suffered for 14 years," he added.

Champions League semifinal: Dortmund survive Real comeback to reach final

German Giant Borussia Dortmund survived a spirited Real Madrid fightback to book their place in the Champions League final on Tuesday going through 4-3 on aggregate despite conceding two late goals to lose 2-0 at the Bernabeu.

Real looked down and out before late goals from substitute Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos gave them hope. But needing three goals to overturn the 4-1 deficit, Real left it too late for their comeback as Dortmund just held on to reach the final.

Benzema scored from close range in the 83rd minute and Ramos struck five minutes later but Dortmund survived some anxious moments during six minutes of injury time even as the Real fans were going wild in the stands.
Real Madrid Vs Dortmund

Jose Mourinho's Real side paid the penalty for missing so many chances in the opening 25 minutes before Dortmund settled. As the home side committed more men forward in the second half Dortmund also squandered several opportunities of their own.
Dortmund, the European champions in 1997 on their only appearance in the final, will play German rivals Bayern Munich or Barcelona in the May 25 showpiece at Wembley stadium.
Dortmund can thank Hummels for an excellent performance in keeping Real at bay for the majority of the game. Ronaldo did not have the best of nights.
Real Madrid Striker's Ronaldo look upset  After the match was over

For all their effort, Real had nothing to show for the first half after being guilty of missing several chances. Ozil was especially guilty of wasting a great opportunity. Dortmund lost Gotze early on to apparent injury.

Lewandowski did not have much of an impact under some tough defending from Ramos. A dejected Real manager Jose Mourinho said he may not remain as Real Madrid coach next season and plans to be "where people love me to be".But he was full of praise for the manner in which they fought back."I don't forget the first match when we were very, very bad and we have been punished for that, not for tonight.

"Today we were a team, with character and desire, and we could have done it."They had a couple of big chances but because of how we were playing at the end where we risked everything."

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos said: "It's a shame. Sometimes you lose, that is football. In Dortmund we should have played the way we did tonight. We feel for the fans. It's a shame to have been so close but the missed chances in the first half were costly."
Dortmund defender Mats Hummels was elated."Getting to a Champions League final is a dream come true for all of us. Especially at a famous stadium like Wembley," he said.

"It's unbelievable; something everyone in the team dreamed of since being an child. Some of us are still children. We are looking forward to Wembley.""We got the result we wanted in the end. We knew if they scored the crowd would get behind them."With Spanish King Juan Carlos watching from the VIP tribune and chants of "Yes we can!" echoing around Real's giant arena, the supporters unveiled an enormous mosaic depicting the Champions League trophy before kickoff.

Real's fired-up players took the game to Dortmund early on and Gonzalo Higuain drew a smart save from Roman Weidenfeller in the fourth minute.

Dortmund looked nervous but managed to get forward and Robert Lewandowski volleyed straight at Diego Lopez in the 13th minute before Cristiano Ronaldo had an almost identical chance moments later which Weidenfeller again did well to keep out.

After Dortmund playmaker Mario Goetze was forced off injured in the 14th minute, his Germany team mate Mesut Ozil had a golden chance to open Real's account when he was clean through on goal but his low strike flew narrowly wide of the post.

RESTLESS FANS

With Dortmund pressuring the Real players and denying them time on the ball, the home support began to get restless as the chances for the hosts started to dry up.

By halftime the Dortmund fans were starting to make themselves heard and the "Yes we cans!" seemed increasingly half-hearted.

As the second half began, Real's Portuguese coach Mourinho cut a worried-looking figure on the side of the pitch and striker Benzema immediately began to warm up.

Dortmund had two chances early in the second period and both fell to Lewandowski, who scored all four of the German side's goals in last week's 4-1 first leg victory.

The Poland forward struck a wild shot over the bar in the 49th minute and then raced clear onto a Marco Reus pass a minute later but smashed his effort against the crossbar.

Mourinho made a double substitution in the 57th minute when Benzema and Kaka replaced Higuain and Fabio Coentrao but it was Dortmund who looked more threatening by that stage.

Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez somehow managed to scramble across to deny Ilkay Guendogan who had the goal at his mercy and Lewandowski's shot was blocked by Michael Essien in the 76th.

Ozil crossed for Benzema to give Real a sliver of hope seven minutes from time and Ramos then smashed the ball into the roof of the net to set up a frantic finale but it was all too late.

Barcelona will be hosting this match against PSG for the 2nd leg. In the first leg, it was a really close match between the two sides. PSG managed to level the score in the closing minutes. Barcelona will be the favorites to win this match, as they are playing at home and they are usually unbeaten in their home matches. Messi is said to be doubtful for this match, as there is a slight injury concern.
Paris Saint Germain Vs Barcelona Live stream

Paris Saint Germain will be looking to play their best football if they were to beat Barcelona. They had a quite good match in the first leg and defended quite well. Thiago Silva was in fine form, keeping Messi at bay most of the time, but Messi still managed to score. PSG will need to get them on the counter and play like they did in the first-leg. If Messi does not play, then PSG has got a really good chance to go through, but they will still need to defend well. PSG key players are Z. Ibrahimovic, D. Beckham and Thiago Silva.
Barcelona will most likely be the hot favourites to win this match, but without Messi Barcelona are not that strong (if he really doesn’t play). PSG will need to take advantage of this, even though they are playing away, it will be quite tough. The match will begin on April 10, 2013 7:45 PM BST

Shakira's newborn son Milan already FC Barcelona member

Milan Pique Mebarak, the newborn son of Colombian pop star Shakira and Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique, has become a member of his father's FC Barcelona club at birth.

Former club director Amador Bernabeu, Pique's grandfather, registered the baby with member number 171,761 Wednesday, just hours after he was born Tuesday night at a Barcelona hospital. The team's current ambassador to UEFA formally registered his great-grandson in the company of the vice president of FC Barcelona's Social Area, Jordi Cardoner, having previously received the gifts traditionally bestowed by the club on its newborn members.

Twenty-five years ago, Bernabeu also registered his newborn grandson, Gerard, as an FC Barcelona member.

"The day (Pique) was registered 25 years ago I promised I'd make his son a member. I thought he should continue the tradition and, therefore, that his son should have the same honour and be a (member) from the very beginning," Bernabeu said.

FC Barcelona is led by Argentine superstar Lionel Messi and several members of Spain's 2010 FIFA World Cup-winning squad, including defenseman Pique. The soccer club has arguably been the world's best thus far this century, having won three of the past seven UEFA Champions League crowns. It also is the favorite to win this season's title.

Vicente del Bosque named 2012 Fifa Coach of the Year

Spain Coach Vicente del Bosque has won the 2012 Fifa Coach of the Year award after leading his country to their third consecutive major trophy at Euro 2012. The 62-year-old only just missed out on the prize in 2010 after guiding la Roja to World Cup glory, but this time emerged victorious after Spain hammered Italy 4-0 in the final of Euro 2012.
The eventual champions were held to a 1-1 draw by the Italians in the group stages, but went on to cruise to European glory without conceding in the remainder of the tournament as Republic of Ireland, Croatia, France and Portugal were eliminated on the way to the final.

Del Bosque now has two Champions Leagues, a World Cup and a European title in his trophy cabinet. Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho missed out after winning the award in 2010 and coming third last year. The 49-year-old helped Madrid to their first Liga title since 2008 as they collected 100 points from 38 games.

Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, had to settle for a top three spot as well after Barcelona captured the Copa del Rey.

Lionel Messi extends contract at Barcelona

Barcelona's star Argentinian striker Lionel Messi has pledged to stay with the Spanish giants until June 2018 by renewing his contract, the club said Tuesday.Currently leading the league by a huge nine points, Barcelona also said that they had agreed contract renewals with Spain internationals and longtime club stalwarts Carles Puyol and Xavi Hernandez.A statement from the club said that an agreement had been agreed with Messi, 25, whose current contract expires in 2016, and that he would sign his new deal "in the coming weeks".

Veteran defender and captain Puyol, 34, and midfielder Xavi, 32 - one of the heroes of Spain's Euro victory this year - have each signed up to stay until 2016. Puyol's current contract expires next year and Xavi's in 2014.
"This news means that FC Barcelona has secured its ties with three of its most important players," the club said in its statement.
Barcelona are 13 points clear of their fierce rivals, title holders Real Madrid, at the top of the Spanish league, and nine points ahead of second-placed Atletico Madrid, whom they beat 4-1 last weekend. The Catalan giants are unbeaten in the league this season with 15 wins and one draw.
"It is very satisfying for the board to extend a successful project by renewing Xavi, Puyol and Messi," a spokesman for the club's management Toni Freixa told a news conference.
"They are three basic pillars of the best Barcelona team in history. It was very necessary to keep our main elements tied to the club."

Puyol - who like Messi and Xavi is a graduate of Barca's cherished youth training academy - has soldiered on despite injuries that have forced him to spend weeks on the bench this year.He missed taking part in Spain's Euro 2012 victory for treatment to his right knee and later fractured his cheekbone at the start of this league season.
Messi - who has been at the club since 2004 - is the top scorer in the league with 25 goals so far this season, ahead of Atletico's Radamel Falcao who has 17 and Real's Cristiano Ronaldo on 14.
The Argentine recently broke Gerd Mueller's 40-year record for the most goals in a calendar year.
Mueller scored 85 in 1972 and Messi has scored 90 so far this year, though there are claims that Godfrey Chitalu of Zambia and Zico of Brazil netted more.
Messi is also Barca's highest ever scorer, having broken Cesar Rodriquez's record from the 1950s.
The Argentinian is in the running for a fourth Ballon D'Or, world player-of-the-year award this year, alongside his Barcelona team mate Andres Iniesta and his La Liga rival Ronaldo. The winner will be announced on January 7.
If Messi carries it off, he will be the only player to win four Ballon D'Ors, exceeding the triples of Barcelona's Dutch hero Johann Cruyff, France's Michel Platini and another Dutchman, Marco Van Basten.
