ICC WT20 Qualifier 2013:All 16 squads for ICC WT20 Qualifier UAE 2013 confirmed

Some of the very best cricketers from ICC’s Associate and Affiliate members will assemble in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month when the 16-team ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier UAE 2013 (WT20Q) will be staged across six venues in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. All 16 squads for the event, which will be staged from 15 to 30 November, have now been finalised.

At stake in the UAE will be the six available places in the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014, which is scheduled to be played in the first half of next year. 

The tournament will see the 16 sides split into two groups of eight, a total of 72 matches will be played over 15 days and the sides that top the two groups at the conclusion of the group stages will automatically qualify for Bangladesh 2014.

The sides that finish second and third in each of the two groups will play cross-over matches with the two winners also progressing to the ICC World Twenty20 2014.

The sides that finish fourth and fifth in each of the two groups will also play cross-over matches, with the winners of these two matches then playing the losers of the second v third cross-over fixtures; the victors of these matches will then also progress into the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014.

Ireland will be defending the title it won in 2012, when it, alongside Afghanistan, qualified for the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012.

Ireland, which missed the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa in 2007 but appeared in 2009, 2010 and 2012, has named a formidable side as it has retained no less than 11 players from the 2012 campaign that saw it win the last Qualifier. Returning to the UAE will be captain William Porterfield, Alex Cusack, ICC Associate and Affiliate Player of the Year 2012 George Dockrell, Trent Johnston, Ed Joyce, John Mooney, Tim Murtagh, Kevin O’Brien, Paul Stirling, Max Sorensen and Gary Wilson.

The four new faces in the Ireland squad for this event are Niall O’Brien, Andrew McBrine, James Shannon and Stuart Thompson. O’Brien is a veteran of 58 ODIs and 20 T20Is and is joined by the 20-year-old McBrine ,who featured in the recent ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in 2012.

Shannon, a 23-year-old middle-order batsman, has appeared for Ireland a handful of times while Thompson, travelled with the side to the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012.

Afghanistan has named 11 players in the squad who were members of the side that finished runner-up to Ireland last year in the ICC WT20Q. Captain Mohammad Nabi, along with Merwais Ashraf, Hamid Hassan, Nawroz Mangal, Gulbadin Naib, Mohammad Shahzad, Karim Sadiq, Samiullah Shinwari, Shapor Zadran, Dawlat Khan Zadran and Noor Ali Zadran will again be returning with a challenge to guide their side to its third successive ICC World Twenty20.

Peter Borren will once again lead the Netherlands, which played in the 2007 WT20 and upset England in the tournament opener at Lord’s. Other stayers from the 2012 qualifier event, where the side finished fourth, include Wesley Barresi, Mudassar Bukhari, Atse Buurman, Tim Gruijters, Ahsan Malik, Stephan Myburgh, Pieter Seelaar and Michael Swart.

While the Dutch side will be without the services of Ryan ten Doeschate, the ICC Associate and Affiliate Player of the Year in 2008, 2010 and 2011, it will be bolstered by returning all-rounder Daan van Bunge. The 31-year-old veteran has represented the men in orange in 37 ODIs and 12 T20Is.

Another popular name in the Associate and Affiliate world, Ashish Bagai of Canada, will be returning to lead the side for the Qualifier after a brief hiatus from the game.

The event will also see the return of Geraint Jones for Papua New Guinea; the 36-year-old will be representing his country of birth once again, having been born in Kundiawa, the capital of the Simbu province in PNG.

Another familiar name that will be seen around the tournament will be the assistant coach of Scotland, the former England all-rounder and current Durham captain Paul Collingwood.

ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier: Scotland announced 15 members squad

Kyle Coetzer has declared himself fit to lead Scotland in the World T20 Qualifiers in the UAE in November.Coetzer, 29, missed the final six weeks of the season with Nothamptonshire with a wrist injury which also kept him out of Scotland's ODI with Australia and World Cricket League and Intercontinental Cup ties with Ireland.

With a batting average of 47.85, Coetzer is a key element of Scotland's line up and a large hole was left at the top of the order against Australia and Ireland.Coetzer will be joined in the UAE by fellow Northants player David Murphy, who helped his county win promotion in the County Championship and lift the Friends Life t20 title.

Young Sussex batsman Matt Machan, who made his Scotland debut earlier this season, is also in the squad for the qualifiers which begin on November 15 but 21-year-old Freddie Coleman is unavailable due to university studies.

Scotland, who have brought former England allrounder Paul Collingwood into their coaching set up, will fancy their chances of returning to a global tournament, with six qualifying places available for Bangladesh.
Paul Collingwood will be assisted by Craig Wright in  coaching team that is  going to add to the enhance the team's performance.

ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier: Bermuda Announced 15 members Squad

38-year-old veteran Janeiro Tucker has been appointed Bermuda captain for next month's World T20 qualifier, for which they named a 15-man squad.
Bermuda aim to shrug off the one-hit wonder tag at the tournament as they target a place back at a major event for the first time since the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies - to date their only appearance at a global competition.
"I am happy to congratulate Janeiro Tucker on his appointment," Bermuda Cricket Board president Lloyd Fray said. "Janeiro has been an outstanding player at domestic and international level for a number of years and has a keen cricket mind. He is respected by the players and our community and is a proven leader on and off the cricket field.

"Many of us remember one of Bermuda's proudest moments in July 2005 when Bermuda qualified for the 2007 Cricket World Cup. I hope that we all remember that is was Janeiro Tucker who was captain at that time, he had taken over the reins when Clay Smith was injured in an early match, and he lead our country to qualification. I hope that proves to be a lucky omen for our country in next month's tournament." Bermuda is placed with Afghanistan, Scotland, Netherland, Nepal,Papua New Guinea, Kenya and Denmark.
The squad will travel to Dubai on November 8 for two warm-up matches against Italy and Canada before their first qualifier in Group B against Scotland on November 15.

ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2013: Canada announced 15 members Squad

Cricket Canada has named an experienced 15-man squad for next month's ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier.Experienced Ashish Bagai will captain the team as they will attempt to qualify for the 2014 tournament in Bangladesh.

Bagai, Rizwan Cheema and Henry Osinde are among a clutch of 30-plus players, which also includes fast bowler Kenneth Kamyuka, who recently made his Canada debut four years after last playing for Uganda. Canada have not previously reached the World T20 but next year's expanded tournament means six teams from the Qualifier will progress. The two-week qualifying competition will begin on November 15, with Canada in Group A alongside Ireland, UAE, USA, Namibia, Italy, Hong Kong and Uganda, the country where both Osinde and Kamyuka grew up. Canada have scheduled a ten-day training camp in Sri Lanka beforehand, with matches against local first-class sides as well as a game against Scotland.

AFC U-19 Championship Qualifier Group A: India announces U-19 Squad

The 23-member Indian U-19 National Squad for the AFC U-19 Championship (Qualifiers) to be held in Doha, Qatar from October 4, 2013 has been announced. The Squad, which drew 1-1 with Goa Pro League outfit SESA Goa in the latest Friendly match, will be reaching Doha on Sunday (September 29, 2013).

Nepal U-16 squad has been revealed which will participate in the qualifiers starting  at Dasarath Rangashala.The team will be leaded by Nepal U-16 star Bimal Gharti Magar as Nepal will play the qualifiers under the captaincy of Bimal.Bimal have replaced the former captain Hemant Thapa Magar.

AFC U-16 Qualifier 2013: Baharain announced Final Squad

Bahrain Football  Association have announced final squad for upcoming AFC U-16 Qualifier.Bahrain is leaving for Nepal from Manama on Friday morning. The team is coached by Spanish Daniel Boyats.

Afghanistan FA has appointed Argentine Juan Marpcos Troia as a new coach of the team for SAFF championship 2013.  Afghanistan FA said that Juan Marpcos has been appointed temporarily, to replace regular coach Yousuf Karger who is suspended for five matches by AFC. Troia has previously coached Afghanistan beach soccer team in world cup qualification in Qatar. 
The main reason behind this change is Kargar’s suspension for 5 official matches due to over reacting to referee's decision in the last group match against Laos in challenge cup qualification after Djaludin Shariatyar got Red card. He was also fined 5000$ dollors by AFC.

Djaludin Shariatyar won't be present in the friendly, due to injury, but will join National camp in UAE prior leaving for Nepal.Afghanistan are grouped with Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives in SAFF Championship.

SAFF Championship 2013:Sri Lanka announced 23 men squad for SAFF Championship

Sri Lanka Football federations has announced the 23 men squad for the upcoming SAFF Championship which is going to held at Kathmandu from 31st August to September 11.

The 23 men squad includes:

Sri Lanka will be playing their first match of the tournament against Maldives. Sri Lankan National team’s preliminary squad was announced in 15th July. Sri Lanka is placed with Bhutan, Afghanistan and Pakistan in Group B.

SAFF championship 2013:Bhutan announced 22 men squad for SAFF Championship

Bhutanese Football Association announced 20 men squad for upcoming eighth SAFF championship which is going to be hosted by Nepal from 31st August to 11th September. The 20-men squad includes three goal keepers, six defenders , three strikers and eight Mid fielders. Bhutan is considered as the weakest team of the Tournament . 

Goalkeepers: Leki, Hem Lal, Migma Tshering.

Defenders: Pema Rinchen, Dawa Gyeltshen, Nim Sangay, Monach Gurung, Karan gurung, Pema.

Midfielders: Passang Tshering, Tshering Dorji, Thinley Dorji, Biran, Chencho, Ratu, Upay, Sonam Yeozer.

Forwards: Yeshey Dorji, Chencho Gyeltshen, Sonam tenzin.

The captain is not decided till now and the likely names to take the armband are Pema as he has been captaining Bhutan from past years.It is learned that they will be landing at TIA on 26th August. They will be playing their first match on 2nd September against Afghanistan.Bhutan is placed in Group B along with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri lanka.

SAFF Championship 2013: Maldives Announced Preliminary Squad

BG Sports midfielder Ibrahim Fazeel (Oppo) has been ruled out of National Team Squad for the upcoming SAFF Championship to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 31st August to 11th September this year.
Coach Istvan Urbanyi said  that Oppo is having some injury problems and due to that his performance was not good in the league. “Oppo is a good player but he is having some injuries and still he needs time to recover. He didn’t perform well in the last matches of the league as well.” 

He also said he has included the veteran play maker Ali Umar based on the performance in the league and AFC Cup. “I have included Ali Umar based on his performance in the league and also in AFC Cup. He has performed very well not even this year but also in last year. He deserved a place in the squad this time.” “I need some young skillful players and also some experience players.”
Urbanyi also said that he will trim the squad to 20 players after the training camp in Thailand.

“We will trim the squad to 20 players after the training camp in Thailand. I will include three goal keepers in the final squad.” He also said that Ahmed Niyaz (niya) was included in the squad based on his performance this year.
Maldives are grouped with Bhutan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in the SAARC mega event.

SAFF Championship 2013: ANFA announced 25 members preliminary Squad

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) announces 25 members preliminary squad for the upcoming SAFF Championship 2013. 25-member team is travelling to Bhairan and Kuwait for a Training camp. Head coach Jack Stefanowski and Richard Orlowski have selected the players. Youth players like Ananta tamang and Bimal Gharti Magar are also travelling with the team. 

Nepal is hosting the SAFF Championship 2013 from September 1-11 in Kathmandu Nepal where eight south Asian countries will be taking Part. Nepal is placed withalong  India, pakistan and  Bangladesh in Group A.

SAFF Championship 2013: Nepal National Team Selection Today

ANFA will Select select 23-member-squad for the National Football Team on Saturday (today) before leaving for Bahrain and Kuwait for camps on Sunday. Nepal National team is touring Bahrain and Kuwait ahead of SAFF Championship and it is confirmed by official source.

     Nepal National team will leave for Manama, Bahrain on Sunday evening, close source confirmed sports portal of Nepal. Nepal will set up a 11-day-camp in Manama, Bahrain before going to Kuwait City on August 14. Nepal will then set up another 11-day-camp in Kuwait City before returning to Nepal on August 25. It is still unknown how many practice matches Nepal will play in Bahrain and Kuwait. Nepal is hosting SAFF Championship in Kathmandu from September 1-11.
Eight SAARC countries are participating in the championship. India are the defending champions.

SAFF U-16 Championship 2013.All ANFA announced the Final Squad for the SAFF U-16 Championship 2013.

A-23-member team was selected by head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan, coach Sunil Shrestha and goalkeeping coach Mrigendra Mishra.Seven south Asian countries are participating in the championship. Draw will be held at Managers' meeting on July 19.

SAFF Championship 2013:Bangladesh FA announced Preliminary Squad for forthcoming SAFF Championship

According to Bangladesh newspaper Daily star Dutch coach Lodewijk de Kruif on Monday released four more players from his camp, reducing the number of players to 26, which all but makes up the touring party for national team’s Thailand engagement.

The exclusion of Arup Kumar Baiddya, Yousuf Sifat, Nahidul Islam Nahid and Tapu Barman trimmed the camp to 26, including two injured players — winger Zahid Hossain and striker Shakhawat Hossain Rony – and late call-up Rezaul Karim Reza.

The Dutch coach was supposed to declare his 25-member squad on Sunday, but took one more day after the second practice match against Team BJMC made him think twice.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh national team is scheduled to play a third practice match against Arambagh on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper: Biplob Bhattacharjee, Mamun Khan, Shahidul Alam Sohel and Ziaur Rahman.

The 23 Member U-16 National Squad for the Second Edition of SAFF U-16 Championship has been announced by AFF. The Squad, comprising of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Regional Academy boys, will be leaving for Kathmandu, on Thursday (July 18, 2013).
Seven SAARC countries are participating in the championship. Pakistan will defend the title. Maldives have withdrawn from the participation.

ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2013: CAN announce Squad for ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2013

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) dropped pacer Amrit Bhattarai and spinner Sanjam Regmi and included Avinash Karn, Sagar Pun and Ram Naresh Giri in the national team for the ACC Emerging Teams Cup to be held in Singapore from August 17 to 25.

Bhattarai and Regmi, who were in the 14-member national team that won ICC World Cricket League Division 3, are considered only as reserved players in the 15-member squad announced on Monday. Giri was reserved players for Division 3 while U-19 bowling-star Karn is considered for the first time in the national team. Karn had taken record 24 wickets during the ACC U-19 Elite Cup held in Malaysia three months ago. Pun was the member of Nepali team during the ACC T20 Cup held in Kathmandu. However, Emerging Teams Cup would be his first 50-over tournament from the national side. 

Paras Khadka retained his captaincy while Gyanendra Malla, as earlier, is assigned as vice-captain. Sharad Vesawkar, Subash Khakurel, Prithu Baskota, Shakti Gauchan, Rahul Vishwakarma, Basant Regmi, Pradeep Airee, Binod Bhandari, Chandra Sawad and Anil Mandal also retained their position in the team.

Naresh Budhayer and Mahesh Chhetri are considered only as reserved players while Binod Das, Yagyaman Kumal and Jitendra Mukhiya, who were called for the initial phase of the closed camp, are left out.

The national team is scheduled to play practice matches and to attend training sessions in Sri Lanka from August 1 to 14 and fly directly to Singapore.

Nepal has been drawn along with India, Pakistan and Afghanistan in Group A in the 50-over format tournament. Similarly, group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the UAE and Singapore. Test nations India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will field their U-23 teams in the tournament.

2nd SAFF U-16 Championship: Nepal U-16 Squad Will Be Finalized On Tuesday

Nepal National U-16 team is training hard for forthcoming 2nd SAFF U-16 squad and has already completed its preparation for the championship.
The head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan and his assistants are expected to announce a 23-member squad. 

Seven SAARC countries will take part in the championship which is scheduled on July 20-30. Maldives have withdrawn the participation from the Tournament due to the upcoming Election

Indian Team announced for Zimbabe Tour, Kohli to lead

Offspinner Parvez Rasool has become the first cricketer from Jammu & Kashmir to earn a national call-up. He is part of the ODI squad to tour Zimbabwe, which will be led by Virat Kohli in the absence of the injured MS Dhoni.

Apart from Dhoni four others were rested, which resulted in a maiden call-up for Haryana and Chennai Super Kings seamer Mohit Sharma. Cheteshwar Pujara, who has played 13 Tests already, also enjoyed his first selection for a limited-overs international side. Medium-pacer Jaydev Unadkat, who has played one Test, was also back in the ODI squad, as was Ajinkya Rahane.

Among those rested were R Ashwin (playing non-stop since the start of India's home season last August), Ishant Sharma (non-stop since Zaheer Khan was dropped during the England series), Umesh Yadav (came back from an injury during the IPL) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (non-stop since Pakistan came to India in December). M Vijay, though, was dropped from the squad for the five ODI matches scheduled between July 24 and August 3.There was no place for the dropped seniors - Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer - in either the ODI side

Rasool, who made his first-class debut for J&K in the 2008-09 season, has played 17 first-class matches, scoring 1003 runs and taking 46 wickets. He was named in the India A squad for a tour game against Australia in February this year, and also played his first IPL season for Pune Warriors.

The other newcomer, Mohit, has played 11 first-class matches for 44 wickets over two seasons, and had an impressive season for Super Kings in IPL 2013. He picked up 20 wickets in 15 matches to emerge as one of the leading uncapped players of the tournament.
