Asia cup Cricket 2014:Bangladesh to host Asia Cup 2014

The 2014 Asia Cup will be held in Bangladesh after India, who had originally agreed to play hosts, cited a packed international schedule as the main reason for being unable to organise the tournament. The likely dates for the tournament will be February 24 to March 8. The decision was taken at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) board meeting on April 8 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where India informed the other ACC members that they were focused instead on finalising the itinerary for the New Zealand tour, scheduled to be held in February-March next year.

It is understood that Bangladesh volunteered to host the Asia Cup and even decided to postpone the scheduled tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Pakistan, which was to be held around the same period. According to an official privy to the minutes of the meeting, the dates could be changed again considering India have been facing "hiccups" in negotiating dates with Cricket New Zealand.
The BCCI has been trying to convince New Zealand Cricket to trim their schedule of the New Zealand tour to two Tests, two ODIs and two T20Is to enable India to participate in the Asia Cup. The ICC's Future Tours Programme (FTP) has India scheduled to play three Tests, five ODIs and a single Twenty20 international.

Hosting the Asia Cup does throw Bangladesh's FTP schedules into disarray. According to the FTP, Bangladesh are set to host Sri Lanka for two Tests and three ODIs from the second week of February. A tri-nation series is also scheduled involving Sri Lanka and Pakistan immediately after, and just before the World Twenty20s begin on March 16.

Will Nepal get chance to play Asia Cup Cricket???

There are lots of queries from cricet fans from Nepal and other places that whether Nepal will get chance to play Asia Cup cricket after reaching the Final of ACC Trophy Elite or not but the answer to all your queries Is no as Asian cricket council already announced that there will be no space for qualifier in Asia cup. It was before that finalist will play against test playing nations in Asia cup but this time Nepal is not that lucky. Why ICC and ACC place such kind of discrimination between test playing Nation and non test playing Nations the question have been already raised and is under discussion but the decision haven’t been made yet. 

      In football Nepal being low ranked team can get chance to play against top Asian countries in qualification but in cricket Nepal had Never played against the senior team of any test playing Nations. Hongkong, UAE and Afghanistan are lucky as they have faced test playing nations previously but Nepal had yet to play with these teams.The question is why Nepal isn’t getting chance to be tested by world class player as they are capable of beating these team.Nepal had brought many surprising results in under 19 level beating Pakistan  Zimbabwe , south Africa and Newzeland in ICC T20 world cup and are still to face these team in senior Level and on my observation after the arrival of Coach Pubudu Dasanayeke Nepal senior team are stronger than ever as they have beaten one day standards team and teams which have already played world cup.

I as Cricket lover , want that ICC and ACC should thin of conducting few matches between non test playing nations and Test playing nations as this will boost the cricket all over the world. We have seen lots of spectators coming to TU cricket Ground even when Nepal play under-16 or under-19 qualification and from here we can imagine what will be the number of spectators if nepal senior team will face any of the test playing nations at TU cricket Ground and hope one day the day will come.
