AFC U-22 Asia Cup: ANFA Announces 23 Members Squad for AFC U-22 Asia Cup Qualifiers


All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has announced the final squad of Nepal National U-22 Team for the up-coming AFC U-22 group D qualifiers to be held in Kathmandu from June 16-June 24.
The final 23 - member squad was selected from 27 players. Head Coach, Krishna Thapa and assistant coach, Hari Khadka selected the players.
 Amrit Chaudhary (YHSC), Palsang Lama (YHSC), Ajit Bhandari (Boudha FC) and Asim Jung Karki (NRT) are axed from the squad. 


The Selected  players are:

GoalKeepers: Bikesh Kuthu(IMYA), Bishal Shrestha (LH MMC),  Dinesh Thapa Magar (Machindra FC)
 Defenders:  Sabindra Shrestha (LH MMC), Bikash Singh Chhetri (LH MMC), Rabin Shrestha (NPC), Deepak Bhusal,  Rabi Thapa (MTSC), Rohit Chand (HAL India)
 MidFielders: Shiva Shrestha (LH MMC), Roshan Lamichane (NRT), Prabin Karki(SJYC), Ganesh Khadka (YHSC), Rupesh KC (YHSC), Anil Ojha (MTSC), Amir Shrestha (LH MMC), Sushil KC (NRT), Bishal Rai B (Machindra FC), Jagjeet Shrestha(YHSC),   Sulav Maskey (LH MMC)

Dear readers the AFC U-22 Asia cup will be held on 2013 and the Qualification for the final round of AFC U-22 Asia cup is about to beging after few days. Asian nations intrested to take part in the tournaments are grouped in seven different Groups and they will play qualifiers to be in the final round of AFC U-22 Asia cup.




The Group winner and runner up from each group will be selected for the final round while the best third team will also qualify from the Qualifiers and the organizer will automatically qualify for the final round.

AFC U-22 Asia Cup Group D Qualifiers: Nepal U-22 Team to play all matches under Lights (See Complete Fixture of AFCC U-22 Group D Qualifiers

Nepal National U-22 football team is playing its all matches under lights as AFC confirmed new schedule proposed by ANFA. AFC published the fresh dates for the qualifiers in which Nepal will take on Bangladesh in its opening match on 16th of June at 6:30 PM.  Nepal will then meet Yemen on 18th in the evening. Similarly Nepal will face Uzbekistan in 20th june at same time and Jordan on 22th June on Same Venue and time.

AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers: Bangladesh U-22 Team to arrive Kathmandu on June 14


Bangladesh National U-22 team will arrive Kathmandu on June 14 to take part in AFC U-22 group D qualifiers starting from June 16 in kathmandu , Nepal. The tournament was first schedule from june 2 but due to the political unrest in country the tournament was rescheduled from June 16.AFC confirmed the date for group D qualifiers upon the request of ANFA
"We will arrive Kathmandu on 14th of June", BFF official was quoted saying by goalnepal. 


30 players have been training under him since May 9. Syed Golam Jilani is the head coach of the team.

Among 30 players   seven players have experience to play for the national team. The Bangladesh U-22 team started training quite late as the club didn’t release the player in time.

AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers: New date for the tournament Confirmed


All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) in association with AFC has confirmed that AFC U-22 group D qualifiers will be held from June 16-24 in Kathmandu
The qualifiers - which was supposed to be held from June 2 in Kathmandu - was postponed due to unstable political situation in Nepal. Since the political situation in Kathmandu is okay, AFC agreed on the date provided by ANFA for the qualifiers. 


Two matches will be played daily at Dasrath Stadium. The first match will be played at 3:30 PM & the second match will be played under floodlights. (6:30 PM).

The AFC U-22 Championship Finals will be played from January 11-26, 2014. Fourteen Member Associations will qualify from the qualifying competition (the top two teams and the best third-placed team).

Detail schedule and fixture of the tournament will be given shortly.

AFC U-22 Asia cup Qualifiers:AIFF announces 33 members preliminary Squad for U-22 Asian Cup qualifiers


The All India Football Federation today released a list of 33 players preparation camp U-22 to be held in Delhi from June 1 for Asian Cup qualifiers. The list was released after a series of medical tests following a camp held in Bangalore from May 23. After Delhi camp a final list of 23 players will be declared later.
 Arthur Papas will be the head coach.

India have been pitted in Group A of the U-22 Asian Cup qualifiers along with hosts Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates and Turkmenistan.
India will play their first match against Lebanon on June 23.
 The list of 33 players:

Goalkeepers: Gurpreet Singh Sandhu (Kingfisher East Bengal), Ravi Kumar (Pailan Arrows), Ricardo Cardozo (Tata Football Academy), Soram Poirei Angamba (Shillong Lajong FC).

AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers: AFC U-22 Qualifiers Is Postponed, nest date to be announced soon


It has been confirmed that AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers, which was scheduled to start in Kathmandu from 2nd of June, is officially postponed. AFC informed all the participating teams about the decision.
 All Nepal Football Association (ANFA)  also confirmed it by saying that the political situation of Nepal was not favourable during that time and now its already late to participating teams to send there player for the tournament in prevous Schedule.
"We are determined to host the qualifiers in Nepal. The qualifiers will not start from 2nd of June but we are in talks with AFC for the fresh date before 23rd June", ANFA official said Media persons. 


Jordan team, which was supposed to leave to Nepal from Amman on Wednesday, has also cancelled the flight.

Mr. Khalil Al-Salem General Secretary of the Jordan football association announced that the AFC will determine the date and venue for the playoffs in the coming days, and that the AFC resumed its contacts with the National Association of the teams participating in this group in order to solicit their opinion on hosting the qualifiers, noting that the qualifiers must take place no later than 23 of next June, which is the unified date for all seven qualifying groups.

The political turmoil in Nepal is expected to be the main reason behind the postponement.

AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers: Jordan U-22 Beat Sri Lanka National Team in Palestine


Jordan U-22 National team is playing a tournament in Palestine Authorities to prepare themselves for up-coming AFC U-22 Group D Qualifiers scheduled in Kathmandu from June 2. Jordan Under-22 national team achieved a comfortable victory against Sri Lanka 2-0 in their last match of the first round of AlNakba second international football tournament, which was held at Faisal Al-Husseini Stadium.
Musa’b All-laham scored both goals for Jordan in a match witnessed plenty of wasted chances for the Jordanian national team
The team needed to win with a big margin of goals to enhance their chance in competing for the best second place team in the three groups and qualify for the semi-finals with three teams who will head the three groups.
The team had lost the first match against Tunisia 0-2. 
Jordan U-22 is pitted along with Nepal, Bangladesh, Yemen and Uzbekistan in Group D. Group D Qualifier will take place in Nepal from June 2.

AFC U-22 Asia cup 2013: Selection camp of India starts in Bangalore

A three day, National Team Selection Camp to select the players for the upcoming U-22 AFC Qualifiers have kicked-off on Wednesday (May 16) at the Bangalore Football Stadium. Total 44 players would take part in the selection camp out of which 30 players would be selected for the Preparatory Camp starting from May 23rd to June 20th, 2012.

 The shortlisted 30 candidates would undergo various kinds of test like (Biometrics Test, Medical Test, ECG, Echo, Cardiology Test etc.) from May 19th to 22nd, 2012 at the SAI Center Kengeri, Bangalore.

AIFF Technical Director Rob Baan would personally scrutinize the players on various physical and medical aspects. List of 44 players taking part in the Selection Camp are:

AFC U-22 Asia Cup 2013 Group D Qualifier: Jordan Under-22 team to play Tournament in Palestine


 Jordan under 22 national team is leaving for the Palestinian territories to participate in the Second International tournament(Alnakba), which will start on Monday at Faisal AlHusseini stadium in the suburbs of Ram under the patronage of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and with the participation of 10 teams distributed by lot into three groups,  Jordan came in Group C with Tunisia and Mauritania, group A included Palestine, Vietnam, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Group B included Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Kurdistan(Iraq)

The matches will be played on: Faisal Husseini International Stadium - Ram, Municipality of Nablus stadium, Majid Asa’d stadium Al-Bireh, Hussein bin Ali- Alkhalil, and Dura stadium.
Jordan Under-22 team will play its first match on Thursday, 17 against Mauritania, and meets Tunisia on Saturday, 19th.
   Jordan Football Association delegation is headed by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Alian HH Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Football Association, and includes Ahmad Qteishat technical department director.
Palestine U-22 Team

   Captain Islam Thiabat – the team coach, said that participation in the tournament has many meanings first and foremost to reflect the depth of the historical relationship between Jordan and Palestine in all fields as well as the importance of participating with their brothers in Palestine on all of their national occasions, also it is considered to be the first phase of the team preparation process for the Under-22 Asian qualifiers which will be held in Nepal from 2nd june to 12th June /2012. Thiabat added that facing two African teams in the tournament will be a good test for the players and an important addition to the team, he also praised the players moral situation that have emerged during the training games the team played recently, pointing that the team will play an international friendly against Lebanon- after they return from Palestine- in Amman on June 27 and then travel to Nepal to participate in the Asian qualifiers.

AFC U-22 Asia Cup 2013 :Bangladesh announce 30 member preliminary squad for AFC U-22

Bangladesh Football Federation selected 30 footballers for the preliminary squad of the AFC U-22 qualifiers scheduled to start at Kathmandu from June 2 on Tuesday. The players are requested to report to coach Syed Golam Jilani on May 10 on Thursday but Bangladesh national U-22 team’s preparation for the upcoming AFC U-22 Championship is yet to reach the full tempo due to the reluctance of the clubs on releasing players. In the last three days, since the introduction of the camp the number of the attendants was 10, 20, and 25.
Coach Syed Golam Jilani had little to say, “As the league is running, the clubs are not allowing the players to attend the camp. I have nothing to say but I am trying to continue my work with the available resources,” said Jilani. 


Bangladesh is pitted in group D alongwith Uzbekistan, Jordan, Yemen and hosts Nepal. The qualifiers will kick off in Kathmandu on June 2.
