Tennis star Novak Djokovic to get married to girlfriend Jelena

Novak Djokovic, the world's top-ranked tennis player, announced via social media on Wednesday that he was engaged to marry his longtime girlfriend, Jelena Ristic.
"Meet my fiance (sic) and future wife," Djokovic, 26, said in a tweet that linked to a photo of the Serbian-born tennis star being kissed by his fiancee, also a Serb. "So happy! Thank you for the wonderful wishes #NoleFam and friends!"
Ristic is well-known to tennis fans as a fashionable and enthusiastic presence at Djokovic's matches and is director of his charitable foundation.
Djokovic became a top-10 player on the ATP tour in 2007 but was overshadowed for several years by Roger Federer, the so-called Swiss Maestro, considered by many to be the greatest tennis player of all time, and Spaniard Rafael Nadal.

But in 2011 Djokovic surged past both men to claim the number 1 ranking by putting together one of the best seasons in the sport's modern era, winning the Australian Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open and losing only six matches.
Though Federer briefly reclaimed the No. 1 spot after winning Wimbledon in 2012, Djokovic has held it for most of the past two years.
Earlier this month he lost to Nadal in the finals of the U.S. Open.
Djokovic, who credits his rise to the top of his sport in part thanks to a gluten-free diet, in August released an autobiographical book about his nutrition and training regime, titled "Serve to Win."

Novac Djokovic wins third consecutive Australian Open title

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic made history when he beat Andy Murray in the final for his third consecutive and overall fourth Australian Open men's singles title at the Rod Laver Arena Sunday.

The World No.1 took three hours and 40 minutes to prevail over the No.3 ranked Briton 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-2.The top-ranked Djokovic is the first man in the Open era to win three straight Australian titles.
Born a week apart in May 1987 and friends since their junior playing days, the two played like they knew each other's game well in a rematch of last year's U.S. Open final won by Murray. There were no service breaks until the eighth game of the third set, when Djokovic finally broke through and then held at love to lead by two sets to one.

Djokovic also secured the second break of the match to take a 2-1 lead in the fourth set then went ahead by two service breaks and took a 4-1 lead when Murray double-faulted on break point.

Top-ranked Djokovic didn't rip his t-shirt off this time, as he did after his epic 5-hour, 53-minute win over Rafael Nadal last year. He just did a little dance, looked up to the sky and then applauded the crowd after the 3-hour, 40-minute match.

It was Djokovic's sixth major title and his fourth at Melbourne Park, where he is unbeaten in 21 matches.
Murray's win over Djokovic in the U.S. Open final last year ended a 76-year drought for British men at the majors. The 25-year-old Scotsman has now lost three Australian Open finals.
Similarly, Victoria Azarenka retained her Australian Open title Saturday defeating an injury-afflicted Li Na in a dramatic women's singles final at the Melbourne Park.

Azarenka won 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 and retains the World No.1 ranking as a result, when defeat would have seen Serena Williams take the top spot.
