India Lifts the Title of Second SAFF Women Championship 2012

India National Women's Team defeated Nepal National Women's team 3-1 at CR& FC grounds, Colombo to lift the title of 2nd SAFF Women's Championship. Nepal though took lead in the first five minutes but as expected Nepalese defence looks in trouble as SPURIYA ROUTRAY levels the score just after five minutes.

The match ended 1-1 draw till half time and Nepalese goalie Namita dali once again make poor clearance and India utilize the chance as BEMBEM DEVI score the goal to give India the most wanted lead. The n after India played the power game and committed lots of foul and at 83 minutes India make it 3-1 as kamala devi scores for India and Nepal loses the Match and once again India claim the Title.

Nepal to face India in the Final of SAFF Womens Championship 2012.

Once again Nepal will try its luck against stronger India to lift the Trophy of Second SAFF women Championship 2012 that is being held in Sri lanka. Nepal and India Both have hundred percent result in league and semifinal match while India looks better in goal difference. Before the final will begin India had better history than Nepal as Nepal was defeated  on both Occasions in the final by India. India defeated nepal in 11 th SAAF games and First SAFF women's Championship . But history will not repeat again and again.

 India hammered Afghanistan 11-0 to reach the final while Nepal struggle against Srilanka to reach final as Nepal have to wait for second half to penetrate the defense of Srilanka.
 Nepal will face India on 17th September to be the Champions though the way for Nepal to be champion is not easy but anantasports.com is sure  that the Nepali cheli will leave no stone unturn to lift the Trophy and bring Glory for Nepalese football fan.

Nepal to face Srilanka in the Semifinal of Second SAFF Champion ship 2012


Nepal will face host Srilanka in the semifinal of SAFF Women’s Championship 2012. Nepal enters the semifinal as a Group winner with comfortable win in all three matches with the goal difference of 18 goals, while srilanka enters semifinal after winning two matches and losing one against India. Though Srilanka is considered as weaker than Nepal but even a single mistake can cost to Nepal. Srilanka had played well against Bangladesh to secure its position for semifianal.

 Nepal had played against srilanka in last South Asian games in Bangladesh where srilanka lost against Nepal by 8-0. Anyway this time its different scenario and different place so history has nothing to do here so Nepal will play to win and Nepalese coach kishor Kc will put his best team against srilanka and will secure the position for Final. 2nd SAFF Women's Championship: Nepal Hammers Afghanistan 7-1 to face sri lanka in semifinal

Nepal women’s football team enters the semifinal as the Group winner after hammering Afghanistan 7-1 to registered third wins in a row in 2nd SAFF Women's Championship played at CR&FC Grounds on Wednesday.
     Niru Thapa opened the firing in the early 5th minute making full use of pass from Dipa Adhikari in the corner Kick. Nepal skipper Jamuna Gurung scored a goal in the spot-kick that Nepal earned in the 19th minute after Niru Thapa was fouled by Afghanistan player Nadia.
   Marjan down the differences to 2-1 on counter attack as Nepalese player let chance to opponent in the 42nd minute. Niru Thapa tripled the tally just before going for half-time break in the 45+2 th minute on a rebound after Anu Lama's shot hit the side pole.

 Sajana Rana scored in the 47th minute to make 4-1 up for Nepal.
 Anu Lama scored in the 59th minute for Nepal on a corner kick that was taken by dipa Adhikari

Sajana Rana scored her second and teams’s 6 in the 72nd minute after her shot enters the goal post from 25 Yards.Anu Lama scored her second goal in the wee hours and made it 7-1.

2nd SAFF Women Championship: Nepal Enters Semifinal; Defeats Maldives 5-0

It looks like september is good month for Nepalese sports as Jamuna Gurung scored a hat trick as Nepal National Women's team defeated Maldives national women's team 5-0 to enter semifinals in 2nd SAFF Women Championship played at CR&FC Grounds, Colombo on Monday.  After cricket nepal had bring some joy in face of nepalese sports lover from the football ground too. After 8-0 comfortable win against Pakistan  one day ago today also  Nepalese players looks in winning sprit as Dipa Adhikari provided lead to Nepal in the 19th minute

Anu Lama doubled the tally in the 35th minute through her fantanstic header utilising pass from Pramila Rai.
Jamuna Gurung tripled the tally in the 59th minute.
Gurung added another goal in the 88th minute making use of pass from Dipa Adhikari.
Jamuna completed her hat trick in 90+1 through spot kick.

2nd SAFF Women Cham'ship: Nepal thrashes Pakistan by 8-0


After dissappointing performance by Nepalese men’s football team in nehru cup Nepalese women player didn’t dissappointed Nepalese fan as  Jamuna Gurung scored four goals alone when  Nepal hammered Pakistan 8-0 to start 2nd SAFF women championship in an impressive way at CR&FC Grounds, Colombo, Sri Lanka. 

Gurung scored four goals in the first half before being substituted in the first half while Pramila Rai, Sajana Rana, Anu Lama and Dipa Adhikari scored apiece for Nepal.
 
Nepal Vs Pakistan 


Nepal, having almost the same squad that thrashed Pakistan 12-0 in 1st SAFF Championship held in Bangladesh, started the game in a brighter note as Nepal opened the firing early in 9th minutes.
 

Dipa Adhikari played an influential role as she supplied a sublime cross that created so much space to skiper Jamuna Gurung who slotted home from a close range that needed a slight deflection off Pakistani defender.
 

Nepal doubled the tally in 16th minutes through Pramila Rai, who performed outstanding game throughout the game.
 

Nepal had to wait another 16 minutes to extend the tally. Jamuna Gurung scored her second goal with the support from fellow striker, Anu Lama.
 

Lama was quick enough to send the good cross to Jamuna who was totally unmarked inside the box and she slammed domw with her powerful shot.
 

Gurung completed her hat trick two minutes later after Pakistani goalie, Mahapara failed to get hold on the ball properly.
 

Sajana Rana, who was solid in the defensive midfield, extended the tally in 42nd minutes.
 

When the match was heading towards the first half, Gurung scored her fourth one utilizing a good cross off Dipa Adhikari.
 

Nepalese girls enjoyed the lemon break making nose 6-0 up.
 

Nepal's head coach, Kishor KC made a tactical change, replacing three important players; Jamuna Gurung, Niru Thapa and Pramila Rai in the second half and fielded Laxmi Poudel, Anchali Waiba and Krishna Khatri.
 

Nepalese team then played a good passing game in the second half rather than scoring more.
 

Anu Lama scored seventh goal in 51st minute and impressive Dipa Adhikari completed the rout in 72nd minutes.
 

Nepal will play next Maldives on September 10.

Nepal is grouped with Pakistan, Maldives & Afghanistan In 2nd SAFF Women Championship

Nepal National women's team have been grouped with Pakistan, Maldives and Afghanistan in group B of 2nd SAFF Womens Championship scheduled on September 7-17 in Colombo.
The tournament will be held from September 7 to 16 at CR and FC grounds, Colombo with the participation of eight countries.
They will play round robin in the first round and the semi finals will be held on September 14 followed by the final on September 16. 


India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and hosts, Sri Lanka has been drawn in Group A while Nepal, Pakistan, Maldives and Afghanistan play in Group B.
The participating teams will arrive in Sri Lanka on September fourth. There will be two matches played each day.
India will play against Bangladesh at 9am on September 7 in the opening match and Sri Lanka will meet Bhutan at 3.30 pm on the same day.
