Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao popularly known as Manny Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978, in KibaweBukidnonPhilippines. In 995, the death of a young aspiring boxer and close friend Eugene Barutag spurred the young Pacquiao to pursue a professional boxing career.Pacquiao started his professional boxing career when he was just 16 years of age, stood at 4'11'', and weighed 98 pounds (7 pounds under the minimum division). He admitted before American media that he put weights in his pockets to make the 105-pound weight limit. Pacman is currently the Ring Magazine’s number 1 pound-for-pound king, followed by Floyd Mayweather in the number 2 spot. Sergio Martinez and Nonito Donaire Jr are not far behind at the number 3 and 4 spots respectively.

Shane Mosley or Shane Donte Mosley is also known as “Sugar” because his first 38 fights as a professional boxer were “sweet” and impressive. A resident of Pomona, California, Shane Mosley is already on his 17th year as a professional at present. He currently trains in Big Bear, California for his upcoming fight versus Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

Yesterday, during the final press conference of the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight, Pacman said he will be wearing yellow gloves when he fights Sugar Shane this Saturday, May 7th at the MGM Grand Arena. He also encouraged the Filipino community and all his fans who will be watching to wear yellow shirts to support his call to fight poverty in the Philippines and unity of all the people in the world.

Shane Mosley, a former champion in three weight divisions – welterweight, super-welterweight and lightweight – will definitely see yellow stars when he fights Manny. This is the first time a boxer will use a yellow-colored glove in a fight. Traditionally, only red, black and burgundy are allowed to be use during a boxing match.

Because of Manny Pacquiao’s popularity, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino will surely be full of the color yellow. Many don’t understand why Manny chose yellow, when yellow is the color of the current President of the Philippines. In 2010, Manny Pacquiao supported a different presidential candidate which carried the orange color. Manny Pacquiao should’ve chosen orange as his boxing gloves, but since he wants unity to all the Filipinos in the world, he will wear yellow-colored gloves to support the administration’s fight for corruption and poverty.

"All my life I have had to fight. At first, as a child, I had to fight just to get something to eat," said Pacquiao. "I believe this world needs new heroes. The biggest fight in my life is not in boxing, but it is now to end poverty in my country."

Pacquiao dropped-out from high-school because of extreme poverty. He had to sell foods and other things in the streets just to help his mother, Dionisia Pacquiao, financially. His parents divorced when he was still in 6th grade but his mother didn’t take them for granted. She did everything she can to provide food for the family.

Manny lived in General Santos for years. He went to Manila to find work and started boxing. It was then the start of his long and very successful journey.

The 39-year-old Shane Mosley has a height advantage of 3 ½ inches and reach advantage of 7 inches. He is probably the fastest and strongest opponent Pacquiao will face.

Even though Mosley is the heavy “underdog” and most boxing enthusiasts says that Manny is going to win easily against Shane, Manny never discounted his opponent and continued to train hard for the fight even to the last minute of the training sessions.
Statistics on Manny Pacquiao vs  Shane Mosley

Sugar Shane is very prepared for the upcoming Pacquiao vs Mosley  fight. When asked about being an underdog, he answered: “That’s fine. My goal is to get the victory and the win. We can talk about me being the underdog after the fight. I can do all the things I used to do five years ago. Don’t ask me about 10 years ago because I can’t remember back that far.”

Manny Pacquiao had the best training camp so far. He believes the Pacquiao vs Mosley fight will be very entertaining because he knows how focus Mosley is for this upcoming mega-fight. He is hoping to prevent Mosley from going the distance by knocking him out.

“I am 100 percent and I would never underestimate Mosley,” Pacquiao said. “He is not old. He moves like a 31-year old, and he still has a lot of speed.

Pakistan former Wicket Keeper Zulqarnain wants to make a comeback in cricket

His international career was just one Test old when Zulqarnain Haider retired while in hiding in London and the Pakistan wicketkeeper, who has received death threats from match-fixers, wants to return to the big stage now that he is back in his country.
"I may be losing valuable time by not playing cricket but I will stage a comeback," said the 25-year-old, who returned to Pakistan earlier this week after being in London for five months citing death threats from match-fixers.
"My cricket has already suffered a lot and I miss playing as I had worked very hard to get into the national side," he added.
Besides the lone Test, the promising keeper-batsman had played just four ODIs and three Twenty20s when he announced his retirement last November while in London.
Zulqarnain said at the beginning of his career, he lost his mother but continued playing because of his love for the sport.

"You can understand what this sport means to me so imagine why I decided to go to London while in the national team," he said.

Zulqarnain reached his hometown Lahore on Friday and disclosed that the the Pakistan Cricket Board and the ICC are conducting an inquiry into the corruption in game.
"The PCB and ICC are conducting their own inquiries and I am confident those involved in cricket corruption would soon be known," he told the media on reaching.
Zulqarnain insisted that he had taken the decision to leave the team hotel last November after giving it a lot of thought.
"If I had not done what I did then I would not be in a position to say today what I am saying today," he said.
Zulqarnain fled the team hotel last year during a one-day series in Dubai against South Africa and after reaching London, said he had been threatened by an unknown person for not cooperating in fixing the series.

The keeper said he was delighted to learn that the police had busted a gang of bookmakers in Sialkot and some of them had confessed to being involved in making him threatening calls.
Zulqarnain withdrew his application for asylum in England only after being reassured of his security by Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
"I really don't know why I was targetted by the bookmakers. But I think the stance I took against corruption is equally important as playing for Pakistan," he said.
