Nepal defeated the UAE by 68 runs on Sunday to pull third
consecutive victory in the ACC U-19 Women’s Championship being held in Kuwait.
Nepal won the toss and elected to bat first at the KOC
Unity Ground. Nepal
put up 158/8 in 25 overs.
Nepal lost their opener Shilu Rijal (nought) in the first
over but opener Anuradha Chaudhary and Indu Verma put up 52 runs partnership
for the second wicket. Anuradha scored eight runs. Verma contributed 32 runs,
which was the highest score of the innings. Sonu Khadka added 30 runs while
Captain Rubina Chhetri scored 13 runs. Mamta Chaudhary struck 10 runs.
Nepal restricted the UAE at 90/9 in 25 overs. Rubina took
four wickets with a bowling figure of 5-1-15-4 to help Nepal to pull
easy victory. Esha James, a 10-year old, scored 18 runs for the UAE.
Nepal had defeated China
by seven wickets on Friday and Malaysia
by 97 runs on Saturday.
