Indian Cricketer Yuvraj undergoing cancer treatment in US

India's star cricketer Yuvraj Singh is undergoing cancer treatment in USA, news reports said, triggering shock and sadness among his countless fans and fellow sportspersons who wished good health for the man who contributed significantly last year in bringing India the World Cup title after decades.

Reports quoting his physiotherapist said the left hand cricketer is undergoing chemotherapy in Boston at a cancer research institute for the past one month and since it has been diagnosed at early stage, he would be cured and be able to play again.

"He is now on high protein diet. I only spoke to him over phone," his physiotherapist told NDTV.

When a tumour was first detected in October it was though to be non-malignant, but later malignancy was detected and the player was taken to USA for treatment.

Fellow cricket Sreesanth said "we all should support him."

"He is a strong man and i hope he gets back strong," Sreesanth said.

"Wishing Yuvraj Singh a speedy recovery, all our prayers and good wishes are with him," tweeted Rohan Bopanna, tennis player.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: "Here's wishing Yuvraj Singh a speedy & complete recovery. On a good day there are few cricketers more exciting than him."
